Since my first visit to the place(after seeing it on TV), I was really impressed with the service, the quality of the food, and of course, the beautiful success story behind the business.
I drive a long way just to eat quality Mexican cuisine at its best representation!
Must try:
Potato croquettes (Everyday)
Salmon quesadillas (Tuesdays)
City Tamales own special Ceviche (Tuesdays)
Tamales (all of them everyday)
That is just the beginning. Their innovative ways, keeps them creating new dishes on a weekly basis.
Can't wait to they grow some more so they can open on Sundays. LOL

A unique place that focus on tamales. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, even vegetarian options. Everyone should be able to find a flavor they like.
I really enjoyed having a tamale witth egg, which is their most popular dish. I washed it down with a delicious champurado drink. It was the perfect breakfast.
Located in the Hunts Point area the restaurant has a very pretty green and yellow theme. The staff was very friendly.
We tried several other flavor of tamales, they all tasted great. I recommend checking this place out. I hope to get back there soon. Like the sign says on the door "Start your day with a tamale".
Totally, totally recommend! We were a bit skeptical about going to Hunts point and we live in the Bronx but it was well worth it. Meet the owner, who was extremely friendly and grateful. Was very busy at 11:30am. Constantly people coming in and out. We had Tamal Ranchero with Pork salsa tamal with added pickled red onions, Chilaquiles verde with Steak (a very filling plate and crispy tortillas A+) and two beers. It was so good we got two rajas and a dulce strawberry to go. I recommend this place to anyone. Worth the visit. I’m gonna see if righteous eats will come out and visit this place! Amazing, Thank you for having us. Will make the trip again!

Their tamales are VERYYYY good as well as their chilaquiles ! The green sauce is flavorful and spicy. I tried the chicken quesadilla as well the only bad thing is that they automatically put the lettuce inside, but that is not an issue. Worth the trip here!

I had placed an order for 24 tamales. When I arrived home I was short 10 tamales. It was Christmas Eve and I was obviously very upset.
I reached out to management and they were truly sorry for the mistake.
They even offered to bring me tamales the next morning! I will say, it’s one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you so much City Tamale. Best Tamale in NYC!!
Just ordered from ubereats! The tamales were delicious. Great quality and they include a variety of sauces. It was freshly made and perfect flavor. Authentic Mexican tamales that will bring you back to the Mercados of Oaxaca! Just added to my repertoire of delivery! Gracias to the team of City Tamale!
Came without expectations and left with the certainty of knowing that I will be back for more. The food is delicious and fresh and inexpensive. Had to use their bathroom and it was spotless. I definitely don't mind the trip and the toll from Queens. Thankfully there's plenty of parking space in the area.
The tamales here were delissshhhh! The Mole tamale was FULL of meat. They don't skimp you on that. I give it to them. Most places it's a pinch of meat. Not here! Definitely get your money worth. The bean tamale was ok, just ok. When I went the only had few options. I'm guessing bc it was after lunch time. Idk. But they didnt have what I wanted. The restuarant is sooo tiny. Maybe enough room for 4 people to eat. I couldn't enjoy eating there. It's also around warehouses and truckers everywhere! Parking really sucks. Again trucks everywhere. At first I thought GPS was taking me somewhere else. Lol. But it's there.
We would eat here again. A little out of the way but worth it. Everything we ate was good, hot, and fresh. They received an A from the health inspector while we were here.
Best Mexican style tamales in NYC!!! I’ve tried like 5 and they’re all delicious.
Phenomenal food even as we got there when they were closing. They gave us the same outstanding service as any time of the day.
