The service and vibe was a bit chaotic but that's how you know your food is about to be good. You saw them make it fresh and these were hands down the best gyros I've ever had. A must go spot for anyone coming.
It was late at night from a shift that day. I went to a local place called Gyro King and immediately ordered the best looking hot dog ever. The guy put all the toppings on the counter. It ended up tasting so good and refreshing. Right after working, I’m going to stop by and get either a lamb gyro or a hot dog, to get the protein I need for the day. Here is a picture of the hot dog:
Hands down best spot for a lamb gyro! They don't call themselves Gyro King for nothing! Been going here since i was kid, my pop would take the family for a nice treat, i do the same now.
My expectations were very low for “dollar pizza 🍕”. But the pizza 🍕 was very good. I wish I would’ve bought a pie. I was just walking down Fordham and saw the sign and stopped for a slice, because for a dollar 💵 , why not?
Don’t hesitate to give it a try. It’s only a dollar 💵.
I haven't been here in over 40yrs! Since I was a kid going to the school across the street p.s. 33- it was delicious then and nothing has changed! I live in chicago now and I cant wait a couple of months to bring my wife and son here to eat! U dont kno about fordham rd if u dont kno about gyro king! And I mean that!
The gyro King. Has pretty good pizza. This pizza's usually served straight out of the oven fresh. The taste of the pizza is great however the thin crust and over greasiness of their slices leaves you feeling grateful for their cheap price. This place has been here for many years and has become a milestone for the Bronx, especially if you're coming off of the 4 train or 12 bus. The atmosphere however leaves much to be desired you will come across the occasional junkie and pan handler. I overheard people saying how good the lamb is there. No attitudes, the service is spot-on.
ordered a lamb and chicken gyro. it was very good. they guys that work there were very nice too .
I had my first gyro here as a kid many, many years ago (almost 30 years) and since then I haven't been able to find a place that came remotely close to how delicious these gyros are. Went with my brother a few days ago for the first time in a few years. It was a very pleasant day, so we ate at the tables out side (inside was standing room and a counter only). The man behind the counter preparing our food was very friendly. The meat was flavorful, juicy and tender, the sauce was pleasantly tangy and it had just the right amount of salad to bring it all together in a soft, warm pita, just like I remember. Was tempted to get one to go, but eating these gyros fresh and hot is the absolute best, so I'll be back for more real soon. Highly recommended. It does not disappoint.
There can only be one Gyro King. But they have more than gyros off the grill. There are hot dogs, sausages, you can get a great chicken sandwich too. They even have a pizza oven. For a quick bite stop by if your in the neighborhood. Oh there is outdoor seating too.
I've been going to gyro king for over 25 yrs. And the food is good and always consistent
