My girlfriend and I went here craving Indian food. What we got was an innovative and exciting interpretation of south Indian food with a modern twist. The portions are gigantic, all the meat is tender and flavorful, and the service is fast and polite. We're going back soon!

We have eaten here a half dozen times and always enjoyed it. I see the one star reviews here and just don't agree - perhaps the restaurant has undergone changes recently. We recently brought four friends with us and they all enjoyed it as well - so we aren't crazy! As others have said this is a proper sit down restaurant. Not sure where the "street food" aspect comes in I will admit I can't speak to the authenticity of the food, but we regularly eat Indian and we think it's good. Only thing we were unhappy with was the Aloo Paneer which was very bland. Portions can vary but overall decent value. Service can be tricky too. Have had the same waiter be very inattentive and slow one day, and then a pleasure the next time we were there.

Amazing first time experience! Owner was humble and a very kind man. Food buffet was affordable and delicious (for a vegan). He let us do the buffet even after buffet hours, gave us a free dosa entree on the house, and let me pay with my debit card from memory when I forgot my wallet in my car!

Visited the excellent lunch buffet twice during my stay in the area. Both times there was a great selection of appetizers and about 5 or 6 meal choices, plus desserts. Each meal also comes with one of two types of naan. Overall a good experience, would definitely return if I'm around again.

Hands down best Indian I've had in Boston. I'm American, so i can't speak for authenticity, but I also don't really care, because good food is good food. Everything I ate was mind blowing, waiting staff was nice, I told the waiter it's the best Indian I've ever had and the chef came out to say thanks. I promptly met him with a "thanks for the best food I've had in Boston". I love my Indian food, but I'll admit, I'm quite basic when it comes to choices. Tikka Masala was otherworldly.

a perfect meal every time. high quality ingredients, especially the chicken. I've worked in 2 restaurants people, I know this stuff! try the cold vegetarian dish with the funny name, it's crunchy puff balls, gravy, yogurt, cucumber, tomato and onions

If you're not looking for anything fancy and good Indian food, you may want to check this place out. Your meal is served on a metal serving dish. I've never experienced this before. After doing some research, it's called a Thali. My Thali had my main course, vegetable bryanni. I was served a nice portion with three sauces to mix in based on my desired spice level. It's a little overpriced but definitely worth a try. For those who are Vegan, there are many options!

Decided to try newly opened new Indian restaurant on Newbury informed by spoolads. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious (chicken tikka masala) and the naan was fabulous. The restaurant was clean. Will definitely stop by again when in the neighborhood.

Don't let the name fool you, this is a proper restaurant with sit-down service and a pleasant ambiance. Dosas are the best I have ever had (compared to dosas at maybe ten other places I've been to over the years). Prices are on the higher side, but again this is not actually a "factory" serving "street food" - it's a regular Indian restaurant on Newbury street.

It's not easy to find South Indian. Most Boston restaurants have the same old menu. This place has a lot od hard to fin South Indian dishes, as well as some original ones. The dosas are incredible and definitely the way to go. Really freah and large enough forvtwo meals.
