Very tasty Ethiopian food with good service and a pleasant atmosphere especially if you sit outside and you can do some street/people watching. Slightly unpleasant surprise...a bill. Personally I think a little bit too high.
Absolutely incredible! Reservations recommended especially for dinner on weekends. We got a vegetable sampler (intrinsically vegan) and every dish was so flavorful and delicious and different. Our kids also loved it and asked for more of the shiro wet and yekik alicha. The injera was so soft and delicious. Can’t wait to go back, highly recommend!
One of the best meals we've had all year. Fresh, flavorful and filling. Injera was so tasty, spicy cottage cheese was incredible, and service was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to be back!
This place is a gem!! Only had Ethiopian food one other time in Washington DC, but living in Rhode Island there aren’t any restaurants here. My boyfriend had never tried it before so we took the trip to Boston to try this restaurant out. Everything was wonderful! The owner sat us down and checked in on us and was so sweet. I got the vegetarian combo and my boyfriend got a beef entree. Food was seasoned well and tasted great. We also got a bottle of their honey wine and it is fantastic! Worth the hour trip!! Cant wait to come back again.
Delicious food and the owner clearly loves the restaurant. The first time we came here two years ago, he explained the menu to us and helped us with recommendations since it was our first introduction to Ethiopian food. You could see the excitement in his eyes when we took our first bites. We've come back several times since and it's been an awesome experience every time.
Definitely recommend trying the lamb and the honey wine.
This restaurant should be the first one you taste Ethiopian with!
I got very impressed with all the little things they took care of.
The taste and service was great. My only concern was, the host did not provide enough hospitality and yelled at a couple ahead of us in the line and I disliked that.
Overall a very good avenue to satisy your Ethiopian craving.
Overall was a good atmosphere and experience. They were out of honey wine which is one of my favorite items at Ethiopian restaurants but not their fault if there is high demand, etc. I think the food was decent and average/sort of middle of road compared to Ethiopian restaurants I have been to in DC, Seattle, NY/CT area. I will give it another chance in the future and see what I think!
This place has awesome food! It was my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and I was not disappointed. Great outdoor seating and the dishes were delicious (be prepared to use your hands). There were mistakes in handling our original order, but after we asked, our server handled it in a very professional manner, which we appreciated tremendously. We had a great experience at this restaurant.
Must say this was a rare treat for my taste buds ! Eating it like a local made it fun and enjoyable ..
The owner was very gracious and welcoming . Authentic cuisine ! Mix combo with meats , lentil and collard greens . Had the local honey wine which was a perfect pairing .
Pretty yummy standard Ethiopian restaurant.
It's my first time checking this place out, but it has been so enjoyable I have brought friends here twice already.
I ordered the veggie combo (not a strict vegetarian), and they asked if I wanted it separated from the meat eaters, which I appreciate their mindfulness. I was okay with them combining it, and the presentation always impresses me.
I really enjoy the yellow and red lentils the most, they are the two bottoms ones in the photo. The collard greens and potato/carrots were fine. The ingera here is not as sour as some places, for those that prefer a lighter/more American palate. I personally like the sour contrast, but overall everything was great!
