Great food, super rich in flavor and cooked well that it’s not dry. Comes with live music on weekend, and atmosphere is also lively. Can be loud if someone wants to enjoy the restaurant, it can be hard to hear. Service seems to be unorganized as we had 4 people asked if we ordered already, yet our food and drinks took awhile...Overall would recommend this place to try out!
I FINALLY went to the iconic Darryl’s Kitchen, on a whim! The food was very good and the drinks had a strong pour (my fav). I’ll def be back as my belly and soul were satisfied and full of yummy goodness.

Yesterday was my third time visiting Darryl’s. I was excited to take my co-worker whose name is Darryl to this place because we celebrated his birthday yesterday & he really loves soul food. I raved and raved about Darryl’s to my co-workers upon our 2 hour drive there but yesterday I was highly disappointed and embarrassed. Compared to my first two times going to Darryl’s versus yesterday was a complete 360. My co-workers got the salmon, catfish, fish & grits. I got the catfish myself. To go we all got the fried chicken. The fried chicken was heavily breaded. the first time I visited Darryl’s the fried chicken was crispy & still tasted fresh after I arrived back to my hotel. Our drinks took an hour which was bizarre because it wasn’t that many ppl in the restaurant at the time we went. The food was bland, I was shocked because it was perfection the first two times I’ve been but yesterday it was tasteless. My co-workers were disappointed because usually I suggest great restaurants. They have agreed to come here again with me to change their minds from the first impression. Looking forward to changing their minds. We are all health care professionals working in New Hampshire and have to drive long distances for any type of civilization. Darryl’s in my book is still an excellent restaurant I just hope upon return my co-workers can experience what I experienced the first two times.
We’ve been here twice and had a great time both times. Darryl’s often plays live music after 7:00 for a reasonable $10 cover. (It was good music when we visited.)
All the food and drinks we tried are excellent. Most of their food has a little spice without being spicy - the yams are a great example of this.
The service is attentive and thoughtful.
We’ll plan to come back again.
Ordered takeout. Everything I got was so flavorful. It hit the spot for my soul food craving. Order was ready on time and kept warm. Reasonably priced with good portions. Would order takeout again
Lovely date night place. I highly recommend going when they have a live band. Great music, great food, nice sized drinks, and an overall great vibe.
We had a wonderful Friday night experience 2 weeks ago (It was my first time in the Boston area)! Everything at Darryl's was awesome from the service, food and the entertainment! Thanks for the experience! We will be back soon!
If you’re not going to Darryl’s what are you doing with your life? First time visit and I was over the moon. We brought a friend for a birthday (this is a place you gotta bring your bday person) and they treated her like a queen and were so generous and kind.
Service was great, cocktails were *chefs kiss*, food was exactly what we wanted while listening to the live music. I constantly had chills by how talented and remarkable they were. Host staff was on point and were so sweet. It made us all really happy to be there. I appreciated that we were in the side room area from the stage and could watch on video and hear everything perfectly. I’m a little sensitive to loud noises and it was comfortable! We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and will be bringing people in droves.
Had a great time at the venue, great great vibes. The music when I went was more so rnb soul and there was a live band playing. I arrived around 9-10ish in the evening. Kitchen for food was almost closed - I was still able to order food, it was eh, I’m thinking if I had arrived earlier in the evening food may have been better. (I will try again) Still, I enjoyed my time, had great drinks, the wall art was great, service was there, and the music was nice. I will definitely be back!
Small, cozy type setting. My co-workers & I went to Sunday brunch but had a late reservation, so we missed the live jazz music..😬
Otherwise, GREAT food, atmosphere & service. Our server was awesome. The cheesy eggs & the very well seasoned fried chicken were Amazing, along with the mac n cheese. I would definitely go back again, but earlier to enjoy the live music. This place is crazy busy, I would strongly recommend reservations!!!
