The front desk clerk at the Holiday Inn suggested this place for eating after 10pm. Cool place for sure. Our poor waiter had the whole place so service was "odd". Food good, hot, fresh bar food. Loved my "adult beverage" too.
BEST part...walking into to LIVE MUSIC! There is plenty of talent in the town and many of them where here tonight. Singer songwriters and some covers...high marks from this Nashville born and raised chick.
You can find Tavern at the End of the World at 108 Cambridge St, Charlestown, MA 02129, right on the edge of Charlestown, Somerville and Bunker Hill. This tavern was recommended to us from the Holiday Inn, about two blocks away as it was within easy walking distance. My traveling companion and I checked in at the nearby Holiday Inn (blog post here) and walked to the Tavern at the End of the World for a quick lunch. This small pub has a rather nondescript exterior and if not for the sign you probably wouldn't know it's there. The tavern is made up of two rooms, the front featuring a full bar and the back some seating (we sat near the lit fireplace) and a small food-counter at one end. I believe t his is more of a local hangout and it was nice to take in some fare and atmosphere.
Been driving by this place for months and finally got a chance to go this week. Looks like a local drunkard hangout from the outside.The neighborhood is a bit seedy but the Chimay Sign by the door tells you they'll be classy drunks!
Really good Irish pub food. Wife had the veggie rollup and I the fish&chips...I got out ordered but the fries are really good! The 'toasties' ordered by nearby tables looked really
good as well .

Great tequila menu, good food at bar. First person poured to the line only, the next treated me well!! Worth a trip downtown from the burbs to experience this offering!! A little pricey for me, but seems to be the DT way of life!
We had an amazing server who went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. I got a full size margarita pizza for $16 and I ended up eating 7/8 slices myself. Say to it, it was a really good pizza. Had a great time watching the Celtics while in a lively atmosphere. Tavern burger was great as well. Would definitely recommend.

Great place for music and food! Had the fish and chips. It was a lot of food and very tasty! Highly recommend. Live Irish Music was fantastic!! Definitely plan to go back and try the shepherds pie.
Absolutely loved my experience at Tavern at the End of the World! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a night out. Amazing food and atmosphere. Friendly efficient staff. Well located for dinner and a drink if staying at the nearby hotel. I went both nights I was in Boston.
Went for dinner last night and found out that these guys have an awesome patio in the back with nine picnic tables with umbrellas. There are a bunch of plants and it is a very nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the nachos! Fresh beer and good service. We will definitely be back soon.

Substantial portion size, crispy, delicious. Chips (aka fries), sauce, and coleslaw - all on point.

My significant other and I were at the veterinarians office around the corner where our cat is being treated for cancer. We noticed this quirky looking pub and decided to pop in for a bite on the way home. A beer and some savory and perfectly made comfort food was much appreciated after a stressful day.
pub style, with classic bar deco and a (gas) fireplace. A good place to watch some rugby or grab a pint,and the food is pretty decent as well, burgers and pizza both hit the spot, better than typical pub fare. Pricey for a pint, even for the area, but it's a cozy enough place I'd probably go back again
Great old school Irish pub. Fish chowder and corned beef eggs benedict were delicious. And they even had a non-alcoholic Guinness that I didn't know existed. For someone who's had to swear off the real stuff, this was surprisingly good.

What a hidden gem. Our party of 3 came here at last call for the kitchen, starving after a visit to the Sam Adams brewery. Little did I know this happenstance visit would result in a shocking surprise.
When you think of a hole in the wall Irish pub, this is it. I wish I could transport the bar to my own neighborhood. The drinks were great and the service was impeccable. My friend ordered the Guinness and the keg was tapped. The bartender decides to replace the beer free just in case the first option wasn't good.
In terms of food, we were hungry and we were coming at last call. Our expectations of the food were low. Yet we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the steak frites. When I took the first bite of the steak, it had the perfect char on the outside while maintaining a tender and juicy center. It came with a savory sauce that paired well with the potatoes. This was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. I wonder if it was sheer luck but Id love to come back and try it again.
I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. I hope it maintains just enough clientele to stay in business but not enough to lose it's charm of being a hidden gem.
Love this place - used to frequent here over 13 years ago and came back here for the first time in that long and it was just like I remembered. Love to see that.
