Spent a week in Boston testing and tasting the local Italian cuisine. Assaggio's had a varied and tasty menu. The food was served in an attractive, authentic fashion. However, what made the visit most memorable, even though we waited for more than an hour (with a reservation), was the incredible customer service, specifically our server, Natalia. She was awesomeness personified. If in the area again, we will go back both for the great food and for Natalia. Buon appetito!
Tonight was my second visit both times for my daughter’s birthday. I had notified the restaurant in advance of the occasion, I must say they went above and beyond to make it very special. The restaurant manager sent a complimentary fruit platter and a piece of tiramisu on them. Our appetizers and mains were out of this world and our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. They really go out of their way to give you a five star dining experience without costing you a fortune. Looking forward to next year as this is new tradition.
The atmosphere upstairs was amazing. Chicken parmigiana was great. Drink and desert was also great! Caesar salad and bread were both just ok. Have patience, super busy. Will definitely be back.
Another one of DePasquale Venture’s restaurant with great food.
At Assagio, seafood dishes were undeniable stars of the menu. The Lobster Fra Diavolo offered an incredibly rich and flavorful experience. Whole Maine lobster melded harmoniously with garlic and Colino tomatoes, creating a dish that's both robust and refined. Meanwhile, the Vongole pasta was nothing short of a marvel. The pasta seemed to absorb the clam’s very essence, making each bite burst with their rich flavors. Not to be outshone, the Truffle Crusted Tuna came seared to perfection. The crust imparted a truffle aroma that subtly elevated the dish, making it more than just another seafood entrée.
The Veal Chop, although not as memorable as the seafood, was still worth a mention. Stuffed with Parma prosciutto and Italian fontina, the dish started promisingly with its tender, flavorful first bites. However, as I delved deeper toward the stuffing, the meat became a bit denser and drier than I would’ve hoped.
If you're planning a visit to Assagio, I'd highly recommend zoning in on their seafood pasta dishes. Despite a minor misstep with the veal, the overall experience here was exceptional.

The food was delicious. Our waiter Sam was very helpful and friendly. The ricotta was amazing. Definitely spendy.
This was a lovely, authentic Italian style. Dining experience in Boston's North end with incredible service. Tasty and delightfully strong drinks and enough food. To fill your belly with some to take on period a wonderful place for a fancy day for that special lady in your life. Or fellas.
First time visit for a fairly large group celebrating birthdays. Service was excellent, appetizers, meals, and desserts were amazing. Definitely would like to make a return visit.
Hidden gem off the busy streets of the North End. Ended up here after most of the places on Hanover had nothing available for a large party. Just happened to walk by and now this may be our new favorite Italian stop. The menu has something for everyone, the restaurant is beautiful and the appetizers are amazing and great for sharing. You have to try the fried Zucchini flowers with ricotta.
What a experience. This place is definitely a Gem. Can’t find a better Italian in the city. The staff was wonderful, the setting was close and intimate. Felt like a family Gathering. The past and seafood was unmatched.
