Nice atmosphere, sat upstairs...much fancier than a true Irish pub but food and service was good. We had the cheese bread, french onion soup, cuban sandwich. Great decaf coffee...carrot cake was not bad.
Love this place!
From the excellent service to the black and tan and those heavenly garlic chips, this is a must-visit pub. No trip to Boston would be complete without popping in for a pint.
We most definitely will be back soon.
Solas is probably one of my favorite pubs on Boylston! It is cozy and quiet, and has good food! It also has nice patio seating, and it's a fantastic experience to grab dinner there during summer/fall. Loved their burgers, and the negroni, but was a little disappointed with their kona big wave golden ale (since it was too citrusy for a golden ale). Just one suggestion: would have loved to see some wheat ale options on their menu!
Edit: I forgot to add - the staff was warm and very welcoming when we wanted to change our indoor seating to the patio instead!

Solas pub is a quiet little bar in the Lenox hotel in downtown Boston.
Bartenders are very hospitable, sweet, and great at their job.
During my week in Boston I ate here more than once! I had the pot pie, chicken strips, shepherds pie, and various beers! Next on my radar is the fish + chips!
My only criticism is that they need more seasoning and passion in the food! The pot pie was kinda bland in my opinion.
Service was a little slow but all things considered the chicken avocado BLT was so flavorful and tender. Pricy, but yummy spot.
Stopped in for lunch, the pub was cozy and quiet. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff friendly! Got the Mac and cheese with pulled pork, as well as the fish and chips. Everything was fantastic!
We were initially told it was going to be an hour wait - which we were okay with. However, about 10 minutes later they said they could seat us at their other restaurant, City Table. Once we were seated we were given the option to order from either restaurant which worked out great for our group. We received amazing service from start to finish and the food was phenomenal. We also quick enjoyed their drink menu as well. Overall was great and would definitely recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston for sure. Location can't be beat, stroll and christmas shop on Newbury and Boylston, then head to Solas to end an evening date in a great Irish-themed restaurant that looks great and eats even better. A restaurant owner in Spain once told me that service and decor are all critical parts of a good restaurant, not just the kitchen. Solas scores a 100% on all counts, it is a great place to eat and has a bar that I like to challenge with drinks unheard, and they always know what to do. When in Boston, head to Back Bay and definitely put Solas in the agenda, you will be happy you did. Cheers!
Went with a few people, sat outside. Had the reuben. Flavors were spot on, but the texture of corned beef was a little tough. The curry sauce for the fries was delicious. Service was a little slow but not too bad.
Went there after lunch hours, so didn’t have to wait. Rum punch is so punching good. Ordered fish and chips, taste good. Love the atmosphere. What cracks me up the most, is the automatic bathroom door…. , door won’t open push or pull, stood in front of the door 3 or 4 seconds, there’s a beep, and the door open,Seriously lol. That alone deserves five stars.
