As a loyal patron of Dbar, I regret waiting this long to visit Boston Chops. We went last night, and absolutely everything about our experience there was perfect! The seafood in the plateau was fresh and delicious (awesome ceviche!) and the bone marrow was the best I've ever had. The 30 oz bone in wagyu was prepared perfectly - the flavor, everything was great. The spicy broccoli and the mashed potatoes were delightful sides. We paired it with a vintage Louis Roederer and it was superb! You can't go wrong with the sticky toffee pudding either. Our waitress (I believe it was Melanie but I'm not totally sure) was fantastic - very knowledgeable, excellent suggestions and she and all of the other wait staff were so polite! Chris Coombs you have outdone yourself and we can't wait to come back!!
It’s expensive BUT it’s because the food is so damn good! Seriously the best steak house in town! We got a 30oz prime to share and it was the tastiest juiciest steak I’ve had in a while! We got ceviche had snapper for fresh catch comes with taro chips to die for!! Calamari was good and these mashed/baked potatoes with this cheesy gravy it was so amazing!!
Amazing steak! We ordered the three tomahawk steaks to share between a group of six. Also good options for sides to go with the meat. Nice choice of wines and great dirty martini’s.
I came to Boston Chops for Dine out Boston restaurant week. For the appetizer I got the oxtail croquettes. My entrée I ordered Bavette steak with Mashed potatoes and greens. The dessert was Sticky toffee pudding with rum raisin ice cream. I would highly recommend for a date night.
Oysters were great and the shrimps were really good. Steaks were 7.5/10, and in previous visit’s they have exceeded this rating. Maybe a little too overpriced
Went here for restaurant week and had a delicious experience. The server was super nice and helpful in assisting us to choose a cut of meat and pairing with a wine. Despite this being delicious, I do think there are places with even yummier steaks around Boston, but maybe this is because we had the restaurant week menu selection.
The service was Top Tier. The waiter was very knowledgeable about meals & drinks. The meals were tasty and cooked to specification. I love my steak well done and thanks to the recommendation of the waiter ( bald guy, beard looks like he gyms) I had the Bavette Steak. It was superb and yet soft ( not like shoe leather) as I'm always told when I order well done steak. Drinks were flavourful.
It was super good! The only issue we had was the wait times on food. It did take long for us to get our app. The waitress kept apologizing and I completely understand it isn't her fault as a restaurant employee myself. I suggest getting the pop overs as they are one of my favorite apps. The bone marrow (attached photo) is also absolutely fantastic. They have a large selection of wine to pair with your meal as well. Overall I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice end steak house.
Amazing meal, outstanding service with Lauren. The Bavette and filet steaks were done just perfectly. Tower of Tempura Onion rings, great cocktails. Everything was spot on. Did I mention Lauren was outstanding? Professional, funny and very knowledgeable about the drink menu and menu. Very attententive w o being overbearing. Beautiful interior and ambience, clean, classy. Can't wait to go back.
Very delicious steak. We went there during dine-out boston (so a bit cheaper). Try their popovers. You wont regret. We also ordered oxtail croquette & crab cake for the table. The main attraction is the steak. Great seasoning & preparation. Loved the place & service!
Enjoyed a nice night out with my sisters on a Monday night…. Our waiter, Vinny, was awesome. Food and beverage came out at a timely manner and Vinny was very informative. We top the night off with some coffee, cappuccino, and desserts. My Margarita was perfect. Highly recommended to try their steak with the bone marrow. Will definitely return.
Boston Chops is a good steakhouse. Don't be surprised to spend $50-100 on steak, though. The appetizers were fantastic. We ordered onion rings, popovers, and french onion soup. The onion rings were light and airy; the batter was fantastic. They could have used some more salt and pepper though for flavor. The popovers were great—light and buttery. The french onion soup was good, but definitely not worth $19 a cup. The cauliflower parmesan was good, but the pasta was pretty basic. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't eat any steak, but the people with me that got steak said it was good.
Overall, Boston Chops was good. The service was great in the beginning but slowed down as the night progressed. We had reservations, which I'd recommend making if you plan on coming here.
