We ate there twice and would have gone there a third time, had it not been overly full/booked out so to speak. The first time we went there was for convenience (we stayed across the road and needed a quick bite right after arriving from Logan). Nice staff welcomed us, served us our beers and Emmets burgers in no time. We liked it, so we returned a couple of days later for some yummy surf'n'turf. Looked good and tasted good; steak was on point. Music was great. Had I not been so tired, I would have enjoyed staying for the one or other hour still. Really nice Irish pub. (Y)
Went there for a late dinner after visiting the Holiday Market. It wasn't crowded and we got a fabulous table in the cosy front window. Service was cheerful and fast. We all loved our meals especially the shepherd's pie and lamb. For an Irish Pub, the nachos were pretty darn good too! And it's always nice to find a place that can serve my beloved Harp Beer.
Good food Reasonable prices
Our service was good. Waitress was very alternative. Food was very good. The beer was cold. Shepards pie portion was huge. It came out hot and it was delicious.
Took a break from studies at Harvard and dropped in while walking the Freedom Trail on a cold windy day for a cup of chowder, organic tea and a hot cider. It was lovely. Definitely recommend!
Great food and great atmosphere. The staff was very kind and attentive. Great fish and chips. Sitting in the front windows adds a nice feel to the experience too.
Nice casual bar with great local glare.
Loved It Twice. We found Emmet's on our way into Boston after a long flight from Texas last year. We tried the fish and chips and the shepherd's pie. Both were excellent. We liked it so much we stopped in again on our way home a week later. We are going back to Boston this week and intend on stopping in when we get there.
It was ok, typical bar food an reasonable prices. I'd go back if I was in the area and wanted drinks.
Very friendly and casual atmosphere. The waiter was great and my salad was very fresh. Nice quiet place during the day.
Great place to experience an Irish pub. Playing the Irish music. Has that rustic atmosphere. The beer was Emmets home brew that had a nice flavor. It is a red ale. We had the garden salad that was very fresh. The clam chowder was very tasty. We tried the Trio of Irish stew, chicken pot pie and shepherds pie. Very filling. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly. Try it out!
Solid Irish pub with traditional Irish food.
Everything you’d expect. A bustling bar with Shepard pie, perfectly poured Guinness, Irish coffee.
Food is delicious. Try the trio (taste of Ireland) you won’t be disappointed.
Tye Guinness onion soup is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Exactly what we were looking for in an Irish pub - beautiful, cozy rustic atmosphere, live music and great drinks! I had the Salmon dish which was delicious & filling, and a very well done Hot Toddy. 👍🏾 A gréât place to chill after a day of exploring.
Great little Irish pub. Service was very good. Manhattan and whiskey sour were great. The calamari with Wasabi sauce was original. The French onion soup was good.
I'm glad we stumbled upon this popular Irish bar called Emmets.
Every Friday, they've got live music which truly enhances the already- lively atmosphere into a party.
Our table wait did not take long, but once seated by their prompt service we were ready to order.
For starters, their fried pickles were delicious along with the French onion soup, which oozed cheese!
Mains; wife had their traditional fish and chips, and I had their fish sandwich (Emmets Fish Combo).
Portions, oh boy they do serve large portions here.
For drinks I settled on Tuly whisky and tried their Irish cream.
Couldn't come to Boston and not stop into Emmets!
Guinness Beef Stew and a Tullamore D.E.W.
Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! Makes me miss the pubs in Dublin!
Slàinte!
What a special (and delicious!) true Irish pub! We loved our Irish Coffee and our amazing potato skins, stuffed with Irish stew. Then you add the music ... perfection!
Food was fantastic. Service was great. Hot as blue blazes. After 8pm, was hoping to have some AC after a long hot day in Boston. Not so much. Music didn't fit the atmosphere...random American songs. Irish pub music would have been great.
I know I'm being picky, but was hoping for a more classic Irish Pub feel.
Again, food and service was fantastic!
Was a great meal, my wife got the Shepards pie and I got the fish and chips. We liked being able to sit my the window on the beautiful day that we were there. Would make it back here next time we are in town.
Emmets, where have you been all my life? I took a different walking path to the Boston Athenaeum and came across this cute pub. On my way back home, I decided to try it out. The onion soup and the fish and chips are both remarkable. The fried fish is one of the best I have tasted, and I have eaten many a fish and chips. Fries were piping hot, coleslaw creamy and top-notch. Full ketchup bottle on the table. The servers were very attentive and friendly. They checked frequently on their guests and refilled water. Definitely coming back. Hostesses were very helpful and friendly.
