This is the original Salvatore Scallopini branch and is still owned by the family. Good place to sit outdoor on a sunny day. They have fresh salads, and their Pastas are all homemade.
Wonderful ambiance and delicious Italian food! My husband and I were grateful to find this gem! Our waitress was so kind as well. Keep up the good work!❤️
We love the food - get it at least once a week. But man, where’d you get this chair Sal? Your great grandmas garage? Most uncomfortable dinner, sitting on that with the tiniest table, and 2 inches from the next table. Hope I get a booth next time!
This place is delicious! The menu is clean and simple. The staff is friendly and warm. The pricing is very reasonable.
Our family’s favorite local Italian restaurant! Great food, terrific desserts and solid cocktails. I only wish the wine selection, especially by the glass, were a bit better or that you could bring your own bottle. We love coming here with our kids because it’s typically loud and they have booths so even a loud toddler doesn’t cause too much of a disturbance. They also have an excellent kids Mac & cheese that my 4 year old requests weekly. While our favorite option is dining in, take out is fast and they don’t skimp on the portions like most Italian takeout! Highly recommend!
The food was very good. The waitress was very attentive to our birthday event and made sure everything went on time. A little cold air coming from the front door wasn't comfortable but we were able to enjoy our event anyhow. Thank you to the owner for coming over and extending his best wishes and making sure everything was as pleasant as it should. The food was served hot and delicious.
I've eaten at some of the best Italian restaurants all over, and Salvatore was top tier. But even better was the service, and staff. The host were accommodating to our walk in large party. Our server Greg was on point, he didn't miss a single step and all of our food was phenomenal. I have a new favorite Italian restaurant in Michigan now. Thanks to the whole team!
Went here with Diana and had a good meal but I wasn’t wowed by it didn’t feel worth the full bill. The drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend their spritzers. The salad however I wish was a little fresher it was a little whittled. I also would recommend to make sure they put the dressing on the side it was a little to much when they tossed it. The calamari was good but it was about average. As far as the main dishes good they were just meat no vegetables so if you were going to want them make sure you choose a side for the table to share. I had Pesce con limone wasn’t over breaded but the lemon caper sauce was way to much it over smothered the fish and had a little too much salt. Diana had the Tosca as chicken goes it was okay again to heavy on the sauce also the chicken was huge would have liked to see a smaller piece and made some vegetables to go with it. In all I would give the meal a B and it’s a good back up option but with all the other excellent options in Birmingham it wouldn’t be first choice.
