Lovely modern pub with fresh food! Fantastic panini, soup, couscous. Half a dozen select local beers. High ceilings, wood grains, and nice light from huge windows in restored downtown building. Order from friendly staff at counter, then served to your table. They even have 1 high chair!
Ate lunch at there Wed afternoon with my husband. Server was fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly. My hubby enjoyed his panini but was blown away by the mushroom soup. I ordered the brisket panini which was very moist and cooked perfectly. Next time I'm getting the brisket panini w/ mushrooms soup to dip it in ((also, the brownbutter coconut cookie is the bombdotcom!))
I have visited this place several times and with different groups of people and we all loved it every time. The food tastes great and the presentation is even better!
We were greeted promptly by a super friendly, attentive waitress who was very knowledgable of the menu. She took our orders and brought out our drinks, chips and dinners in perfect time.
The chips and salsa were fabulous. Half corn chips and half awesome homemade flour tortillas, with mild salsa and medium green salsa. Both homemade and very good.
My husband orders an Enchilada trio which he raved about. 3 different sauces: Red, Green and Mole. He was entranced!
I had the steak fajitas and they were terrific. The thick homemade tortillas made everything taste better. Steak was nice, onions were well seasoned, and extras were just right (pico, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, beans and rice.
We were too full to partake in desserts, but they had quite a selection of treats that looked like they could give Norman Love (who's just down the street) a run for his money. The looked divine and we will definitely leave tummy room next time or maybe stop after a movie some night.
If you are a fan of Mexican, I totally recommend this place. A little tough to find, but once you go there, I bet your car drives there all by itself after your first visit. It's really that good.
I wouldn't place it near the airport as that makes it seem like it would be south of where it is. It's actually awkwardly placed in a business park that's within walking distance of the Red Sox Stadium (east of the stadium). You cannot see it from Daniels. It's not hard to get to, it's just that because it doesn't face Daniels, it kind of hides. But seek it out, it's worth it!!!
The Guacamole was fantastic!!! We will be regulars!
I work downtown and so at least once every week or two, I find myself eating here for lunch. My personal favorites would have to be the seasonal salads. Summer brings the field pea and heirloom tomato salad with added chicken. It's truly one of the best meals. I also enjoy the fall couscous salad which typically has pecans and some sort of root vegetable. Highly recommend!
Sandwiches are delicious! I loved the slaw I had here considering I hate slaw. The chips are great, meat is on point. Quick and delicious lunch spot.
Love this place. The summer salads and sandwiches are always a great choice, the new location has more options and is open for dinner more frequently. Delicious.
Brisket Sand was Awesome!. Crazy good Brisket w/Carmelized Onion Panini.
Good luck finding a better sandwich. Four of us had lunch at Brick & Tin today. I wasn't thrilled with my Classic Salad--the salads my friends got looked great, though, and they cleaned them up. We ordered the brisket sandwich, Desi , and Gaucho. We all agreed they were delicious. My brisket was tender and full of flavor--and they don't skimp on the serving size, either. The bread was as good as the meat.
I usually skip dessert but I took a bite of the chocolate bread pudding and vanilla (?) bread pudding that my pals ordered. The chocolate bread pudding was okay but that vanilla(?) bread pudding was a real treat. Be sure to give that a try. (Strangely, the person who actually ordered the bread pudding thought it was just okay.)
Parking is a pain (street parking--finding a free meter at lunch time can be a challenge) but the Dart goes right by it so "park and ride" is an option.
I wish I lived closer or worked downtown--I'd eat here at least once a week.
My Favorite Restaurant in Birmingham. Not a bad item on the menu--everything is amazing.
The sandwiches and soups are what I go for. Don't miss out on the bread pudding--best part of the meal. Depending on the day, they have chocolate, sweet potato, strawberry, or coconut bread pudding and it is to die for.
Best dessert in Birmingham.
Order your food at the cash register. Line gets long after 11:30am. The brisket is defiantly worth the wait. Visiting from Minnesota. Impressed with the set up and menu of the restaurant.
Pork Belly. I'm not sure if there is a more perfect plate of food than the pork belly (chilton county) with field peas (summer salad).
