Very good brewed coffee, nice staff and a decent number of outlets.
Update: Nothing has changed but the WiFi is very fast now.
Definitely one of my favorite (if not most favorite) cafes in and around Berkeley to work in. There's plenty of seating, a lot of them within reach of an outlet, and very reliable wifi and friendly service. Their drinks are fairly good, nothing amazing, but very reasonably priced. Their sandwiches/salads are pretty good.
I love this place for a number of reasons but dislike their sustainability practices. The food is significantly better than most other cafes, the WiFi is great, and there are a ton of outlets and plenty of space which draws in a large university crowd.
However, they always give me plastic disposable cups even though I explicitly ask “for here.” All is these plastic cups makes them go through a ton of straws. Additionally, there is no compost bin- and for a place that attracts people to have food and stay a while, I have seen a ton of food go into the garbage.
Blue Door is my favorite cafe in Berkeley. The ambiance is nice and cozy, they serve coffee in actual mugs, seating is comfortable and customer service is great. The coffee itself is some of my favorite, and their lox bagel is amazing. It is a little bit on the expensive side, but well worth it because of the high quality of ingredients and good customer service.
busy and full of students- great place to study or catch up with friends. Salad is enough to share between people! Reasonable prices and good coffee and good range of teas. Friendly staff. nice fountain decor in the middle of the cafe!
Tons of seating and outlets along with a cozy vibe make this an excellent spot to study or hangout. Coffee is pretty good and not too expensive, and overall it's a pretty spacious Cafe compared to other in Berkeley. Recommend!
