I’ve always had a good experience here. My favorite is the Rosa Maria, but they actually have really good steak for an Italian place. Obviously, the pasta is good and the salads are mixed before they put it onto the plate. I hate it when I’m handed a huge salad on a tiny plate and am expected to mix it without making a mess!
I live Italian food (my grandma is Sicilian), but the dishes here are just ok. I haven't had a bad experience, but I find the sauces to be light and less rich than the Italian food I love and am used to. I don't know if it's open for lunch now, but I have tried to go a couple of times in the past for weekday lunch to find them closed.
Good service, good food - EXCEPT the minestrone. I met colleagues here last night for a meeting and ordered the brick oven baked cheese with marinara. It was good, although we could have used a couple more slices of ciabatta bread. I also ordered a creamy parmesan side salad, which was a little overdressed. My biggest mistake though was ordering the vegetable minestrone. The vegetables were overcooked, and the soup was so salty I could barely eat it. Vegetables can taste good without adding that much salt! I'm not sure if someone was heavy handed with the shaker that day or if that's the norm, but I don't think I'll order minestrone again to find out.
Had a wonderful meal. Party of
6 had a little
Problem getting my selection but the manager more than compensated us for the slight problem. Wonderful meal, service and an owner who went way beyond to correct a slight error . Highly recommend, food delicious, service excellent, management primo! Eat here you won't regret it.
This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly, the food is fresh and delicious, the prices are great for the quality of the food. Kid friendly, reasonably priced kids menu. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!!
Best Lasagne!. I have never tasted lasagna so close to the taste that my parents or my husband's mom cooked. It was heavenly. I have gotten it each time we went. Wonderful friendly service.
Fantastic Carrabba's. What a wonderful place to celebrate our 35th anniversary and our friends 61th birthday. Chris our waiter was
so helpful with a rather difficult request. I wish everyone was as nice as he. The food was just wonderful. The
Pollo Rosa Maria
Stuffed with fontina and prosciutto, topped with mushrooms and a basil lemon
butter sauce. 4 Stars
Filet Fiorentina*
9 oz. USDA Choice center-cut tenderloin 4 Stars
Red Fish Special 4 Stars
Lobster rivioli was 3 Stars, the pasta was a little too thick for me. The sauce was very good.
The sides were all very good and the spinach and beans not overcooked.
Go for a good time
Just back to award the "Stars": I Loved It . . . .. My first trip to Carrabba's in Baton Rouge but certainly not my last. For starters when there is a wait you can set your clock by the time the hostess tells you it will take to be seated. Of course a little time at the bar is always enjoyable while waiting as the bartenders are on top of their game. The service (our waitress was Mica) was exceptional as even though the place was slammed the night before Mother's Day there was never a wait at our table. Because there was never a shortage of waitstaff and manager also checking on how our meal was going. In fact the manager made at least three trips to our table to get feedback on our dining experience. Now for the food . . . quality was excellant and the portions were very generous. In fact the crab cake apettizers could have been served as an entre' on it's own.Carrabba's has just been put in my regular "eat place" rotation list. We already have plans to return with some family members later this month . . . I can taste the crab cakes already!
Great place. This is one of my favorite Italian places in town. The atmosphere is cozy, with a view into the kitchen. The bread with dipping oil... well, it practically makes tears of joy come to my eyes. My favorite entree there is the Chicken Bryan, which has goat cheese on top. My husband and I have tried several of their desserts and found that our favorite is the sponge cake with whipped cream and fresh pineapple (sorry, can't remember its name); it's a nice, light finish to a meal. I will say that I've had better tiramisu than what they have to offer; still, this remains one of my regular go-to places when dining out.
Great Chain!!. For a chain, this place is awesome!! Great service, tons of food for the price, and it's yummy!! The Chicken Marsala is AMAZING.
