So good!!! Grew up in the area so when they opened back I was dying to try. Not disappointed at all! Ordered the lake trout, Mac and cheese, and green beans. Food was nice and hot. Not too long of a wait. Wasn't too many bones in the fish, which I love. Fish fried nice and hard. Mac and cheese nice and cheesy. Everything was delicious. Keep up the great work. Will be returning.

Dear Owner, PLEASE READ! I remember Rosters from back in the day when I was a little girl. My family would usually go on Friday evenings for Fried Chicken and Fish. YES, the food was ALWAYS worth the wait. Just recently my family and I were reminiscing on how good Roosters used to be. When I heard that it was back open for business I decided to give it a try. This evening I went and bought 4 pieces of lake trout, 10 wings, and a large macaroni and cheese for my family. After I paid for my food I inquired about the price for the sweet potato pies near the register. The cashier told me that I could have one free of charge. That was really nice and very much appreciated. I waited for about 10-15 minutes for my food. Not too bad of a wait. As I waited for my food I read a letter posted on the wall from the owners thanking customers for returning and requesting continued support of Black Owned businesses. This letter was a really nice touch however I wish that someone would have proofread it before printing and posting. I love to support "Black Owned" businesses but feel that at times we do not always represent ourselves in the best way such as this grammatically error letter and the numerous rude responses to the reviews on this site. We "know" better so we have to "DO" better in order to grow. Roosters was a restaurant that people traveled far to get to for the food. In order to have this same success again please ask for suggestions on how to improve your business instead of posting negative responses such as "Go open your own business". There is too much competition these days to talk to customers this way. Perhaps the owner may need a staff member to communicate on their behalf such as responding to reviews and marketing posts. As far as the food, it was pretty good but does not taste like the original recipe for chicken or fish. My daughter really loved the macaroni and cheese. As far as price comparison, a few people mentioned that the prices were a little high. I felt that the prices were equivalent to local Asian chicken/fish restaurants. The one thing I always remembered as a child with Roosters is that they always gave extra food; add an extra piece of fish or chicken. Perhaps this is something that may be needed to help the business to continue to grow and make customers feel that they are getting their monies worth. I will check this restaurant out again in a few weeks or so. Good luck with everything. Best Regards, Alethea Watkins

Hadn't been in a while but wanted some. The fish was small but yet good and he gave me 3pcs instead of 2 👍. Collard greens were on point and those corn muffins are special. Service was good as well.

This new and upcoming establishment is the historical Roost which sold the famous fish sandwiches and rib dinners. I was pleasantly surprised and elated to know we have another Southern Soul food in town. Choose to dine in the cafe or carry out. They're selling pitch is Fish, chicken, pork and other choices...with 2 sides for $5.30( including tax). Nice portions for a small dinner. I had whiting with sweet potatoes and cabbage. All the food was seasoned just right. The wait wasnt long it depends on what u order. The menu offers full size dinners, non alcoholic drinks, desserts, subs and much more. For those tourist who don't mind adventuring out into the neighborhood Cafe for some Soul food, give it a try. The establishment is located next to a police precinct and a club across the street. A customer with a F-250, 6 stroke Dually adventured into the cafe with no issues. I will update on my next visit.

Incredible! Everything is fresh, and made just like you would want it at Grandma's. Lake Trout, Mac n Cheese, Greens, Cornbread, Sweet Potatoes, Sweet Tea... It's excellent. The service alone is 5 stars. If you want real food from a real Baltimore spot... Look no further.
