My husband and I go here for every special event in our lives. Anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, you name it, this is THE place to go and when you do, Penelope is the server you want!! She was the server we had on our first visit and we've never had anyone else. On our second visit she remembered what drinks we ordered and brought them right to us and we've been friends ever since. Good service is extremely rare in Bakersfield and we cherish Penelope.
The food is also excellent. My husband loves the stuffed mushrooms and their chicken strips. I almost always get their fish special. I have even written down a particular dish that wasn't on the menu that I felt like eating one evening and the chef whipped it right up for me. That's what I call service. If you haven't been to Uricchio's Trattoria, you haven't eaten! <3
I dine single and sometimes places don’t make it a secret that they wish you would go somewhere else.
Uricchio’s was NOT one of those places. I arrived at peak dining hours on a Saturday night and they couldn’t have been more gracious.
The food was amazing, my server picked a great wine for me, the timing was perfect. Sometimes a restaurant is just a place to eat, not here. It was an experience, from couples to families everyone was catered to.
I had their Beefsteak Tomato with Garangonzola dressing and spaghetti with marinara and a meatball. Simple fare that did not disappoint. It had been a long hot day and my server never let me water glass go dry, and filled it with a smile every time.
The manager (maybe owner) checked in with me twice to make sure everything was ok. I even went so far as to check in with her to say good bye and compliment her on a wonderful experience.
Thank you Uricchio’s, you made a small oasis for me in my travels.
