Deliciousness. Just ordered food from them yesterday for the first time ever. I got carry out so I cannot say anything about service. My pad see ew, however, was amazing. The noodles were huge and perfectly cooked, and I loved all the veggies ( broccoli, carrots, cabbage). I added on mushrooms, which made it even better. My only suggestion would be to order your food one level spicier than you normally do. I've eaten Thai in numerous other places and always order medium spice. When eating my dinner last night, I noticed it wasn't up to par with spiciness levels I've eaten elsewhere. I should have ordered hot.
Hendricks County Home

Thai Lanna, Hendricks County Hidden Gem. Dining out has undergone quite a transformation as Hendricks County has been able to score some big food hits in recent months. In our opinion, one of the biggest hitsIMG_4470 is Thai Lanna, easy to find and conveniently located at 9655 E. US Highway 36 in Avon across the street from Wal-Mart, a treasure chest of Thai cuisine.
Urban Spoon Critics agree with 45 votes, Thai Lanna boasts a 95% approval rating and not a single comment that is less than gushing. One reviewer writes, "The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great! Friendly staff, beautiful restaurant, and the food is just so yummy! Highly recommend!" In fact, we must agree. Google+ offers up a rating of 4.6 out of 5 starts with comments in part such as..."Thai Lanna is a hidden GEM of a place with kind and smiling staff, fantastic food, and simple yet charming decor...JUST GO!!!"
Lunch, dinner and after church brunch crowd - if you are not opening your horizons then you are missing out. In our visit, we found the portions to be quite nice. Not being as familiar with Thai cuisine as some, we found the staff to be more than competent and patient with questions and special requests. We were immediately seated after being greeted by a smiling, charming host and quickly served water and presented with menus. Table sizes are appropriate and seating is comfortable while decor is pleasant without being an artificial caricature of South East Asia.
Thai Lanna, as the name might suggest, serves a range of traditional Thai cuisine which though renowned for spiciness and intense flavors may have you thinking twice, the talented kitchen staff has a deft hand at appropriately spicing dishes according to diner's requests. That said, the spice options are No Spice, Mild, Medium, Hot and what is listed as Thai Hot. In our experience, when a restaurant offers you caution about the heat level of their food, then fools be warned when asking for more than you might be able to handle. Our advice is to err on the side of caution and if necessary, you can always ask for more spice later.
The menu offers a number of dishes including:
Stuffed Eggplant: Deep fried mixed with ground chicken and shrimp with cilantro, green onion, sesame oil. Served with eel sauce. (Eel sauce does not contain eel but is a sweet and salty sauce.)
Larb: Ground chicken mixed with lemon grass, red and green onion, cilantro, mint leaves and roasted rice powder then mixed together in fresh lime juice and a spicy
Mango Salad: Slice of mango with minced chicken, onion, green onion, carrot and mixed with fresh lime juice and spice.
Pahd Thai: Choice of meat, stir fried with rice noodles, egg, green onion, bean sprouts and ground peanuts.
Drunken Noodle: Choice of meat, stir fried with flat noodles, onions, tomatoes, bell pepper and basil.
Any item choice will be excellent!

Great Thai Food in Avon. Overall: This was a great experience! This is now one of my favorite Thai places on the west side :)
Decor: I thought the decor was very suited to the theme of the restaurant and very pretty. It was well taken care of, and everything was clean.
Service: We had great service, with waitresses refilling water, asking us how the food was, etc.
Food: I really liked the spring rolls & the chili sauce. My entree was great, and it was a large portion which I ended up taking home with me.
Extras: The levels are a little on the mild side. I ordered medium, but should have probably ordered hot.
Took the super hot one. Un regal.
I LOVE Thai Lanna!! Especially the spicy lemongrass soup. I love everything I've tried so far. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend!
I was very happy with all the food we had. The summer rolls were presented differently than I am used to but were
delicious. The seafood soup was flavorful without being salty. The levels of spice was spot on. Prices were
very reasonable.
Consistently Excellent. We've been to Thai Lanna several times now and, without exception, the food and service have been spot on. I wasn't very familiar with Thai food but I'm game for most cuisines and the staff was extremely helpful with recommendations. I can tell Thai food is more about balance than excessive heat. That said, they will spice your dish to your desired level. Some great flavors here that I hope people try.
Thai Lanna is great. We love this place. We are Avon natives and are so thankful for the new places popping up here and there. This one is a must! We try to eat lunch or dinner here at least every other week or so. The menu has many options each one as good as the next!
AWESOME!!!. I ate at Thai Lanna in Avon yesterday. It quickly jumped to tie for my favorite restaurant!! I got the vegetarian spring rolls and crunchy tofu for appetizers. They were SOOOO GOOD!! For my main entree I got the vegetarian Drunk Noodles (mild). Also wonderful! For dessert we got the fried bananas with honey which were even better than I expected! I can't wait to go back again!! P.S. Their peanut sauce is also to-die-for!
Thai Lanna is the only Thai restaurant in Indy I will eat at. I have tried 5 others and Thai Lanna tops them all. Food always made to order.
1. Massaman Curry 4/5
2. Thai Tea w/ Milk 5/5
3. Thai Fried Rice 3/5
4. Lunch Salad & Soup 3/5
tried this thai restaurant at lunch time and it was pretty good, i gotta say that the thai tea was the best so far living in Indy. would come back for the thai tea if passing by.
Our waitress Brit was such a lovely hostess for the seven of us. The choices were many and diverse. Some of our folk took pictures of their plates! Everyone enjoyed the food, mentally adjusting their next order to be hotter or milder! 😊 Highly recommended.
Meet up with a friend for lunch here… it was really good and a nice atmosphere
OMG!!!! So my Google always asks me how the experience was here but I have never been. It's just using GPS from nearby places I visit. But when I tell you guys I finally went and realized why I was being asked! This place has amazing food, hot and fresh even when ordering from Door Dash! I got the Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp. The BEST! I can not go on enough about how great the food is. And the portion size, easly worth the money. I will be back soon and then again after that! Enjoy 😉
First of all, the lady that works there had such a great attitude. Her alone made me want to come back. Secondly the food was delicious. Definitely go try it!!
Appetizers: Calamari & Summer Rolls w/ pork
Entrees: Pad Thai w/ chicken & beef , Red Curry (not pictured) both Thai Hot, Kids fried rice with chicken
Overall, the food was delicious! The only dish my husband and I didn't enjoy was the summer rolls. For some reason it was super salty and killed the taste. That's why I took one star off. The curry was good but a little bit too sweet for an authentic curry, maybe it's just me, I like my curry spicer than sweet. Pad Thai was great! Met all my expectations. The fried was our favorite.
Spice wise, I feel like even though we got the spiciest one it wasn't spicy at all.
Great food!
I've had take out and eaten in. Friendly staff. Food is delicious. I definitely keep them in mind when deciding what to eat in Avon.
