Central Market One of the best grocery stores in Austin in terms of quality. It can be pricey, though. They sell lovely bread. My favorite is their rye eastern European style bread. Central Market is the easiest place to find heirloom tomatoes, great selection of mushrooms. You can find local farmers' milk and many more specialty items. Their north location also has cooking classes. Recommend it as a date idea.

Coming from the UK, I was blown away by how much choice they have here, never seen that many mushrooms in one place. No coffee pods though, which was the only thing we went there for.
