Stopped by today to pick up lunch for me and my Mom. I ordered the catfish dinners which were wonderful. The fish was cooked to perfection, the coleslaw on point. The peach cobbler was beyond wonderful with buttery flaky crust.
I used to order the 3 chicken strips and 3 catfish basket with two sides BUT lately it's been the BUFFETT. Which is off the chain. Fried catfish, fried chicken, spicy catfish, smoothered pork chops, stew tips with white rice, chicken spaghetti, gumbo, collard greens, cabbage, mac-n-cheese, sweet yams, corn bread & a few other items.
The best. In town just for the day and got lost while looking for something to eat. Turned on Urban Spoon I saw this place was just two blocks away from where I was. Gave it a shot, and damn glad I did. Catfish and sour cream cake. I will be back.
We ate their lots of times every time the food is great.
Our East Garland Church decided to stop by & try this place out before heading back to the Dallas Metroplex. The food was fine. The drinks taste great, but aren't something one can have often. The atmosphere was peaceful & relaxing. The music was a blast from the past for us 50+ people.
Food was hot , fresh and very tasty! The catfish was cooked just perfectly and portions were more than adequate,we took leftovers home to make another meal! Service was a little slow but they were understaffed like everyone lately,but the one girl who took our orders was very friendly and helpful and brought our order out as soon as it was ready,all in all I'd definitely be back!
This was a positive experience for us. The dinning area was clean. The cashier rarely smiled but did get our order correct. I had the three piece catfish and French fries which were amazing due to the cajun seasoning. The entire meal was prepared in a timely fashion and was hot. I would revisit Mr. Catfish and More.
Very fun atmosphere. Food took a long time but it was good. Everyone is very nice.
This is the type of place that you go to when you want some homemade home down cooking. The first time my family went they got the wings and catfish fillets. The fish was delicious. The wings was delicious. The fried pork chop is delicious. The greens were delicious. The potato salad was delicious. If you live in Austin or coming in from out of town, do yourself a favor and stop by this place and get you some delicious home from scratch cooking. The second time we went I had the whole catfish fried. Needless to say OMG the staff there is simply wonderful and I pray that they save me a piece of socket to me cake for the next time that I go.
Mr Catfish is a great place to get fresh fish and good down home cooking. If you call in your order ahead of time it makes the experience even better. They also have a DJ there that mix up some great hits. This is a comfortable laid back environment. Just go chill and enjoy some good seafood.
I love it here , I went here last night and ordered food they had a band playing music the atmosphere was lovely. I definitely need to get out the house more often I really enjoyed my self.
Loved the fried catfish! The food was reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly!
Our family loves this place. Great Catfish,Wings,chops etc. We never have a bad experience. My daughter raves about the chicken strips! We've eaten in and taken out. Long wait, but it's worth it!!
Awesome atmosphere and the owner and DJ on Monday nights are so welcoming 🙂
Live entertainment on Monday nights.
Great meals and the bar is fast when getting out the drinks.
