With the Taco Shack Bowl high school game at night my wife and I decided to start the day by having lunch at Taco Shack. It has been a long while since I have been here and she never been here. This place is not close to our home but it was a short drive. The place was busy with a long drive-thru line but did find a parking spot.
Inside this old shack was an extensive menu of choices. There was plenty of seating and ordered a Chicken Fajita Taco with a side of Mexican Rice. The staff was very friendly and the place has great atmosphere. It did not take long to get our order. The chicken taco was wrapped in a four tortilla and was delicious . It has nice flavor along with the rice. I see why the line of cars outside never got shorter or stream of people walking in.
Austin definitely has the best taco spots and Taco Shack is one of them.
I love this place and have been coming here going on 13 years.
It is where I was introduced to chorizo and salsa verde. While my palette has significantly expanded I still come back to this location time and again
The service is excellent. The staff have been there forever. The food is always good.
I always get the taco breakfast bowl; chorizo, egg, cheese, onion, cilantro, and avocado - ALWAYS worth their salsa verde. Yummmm
The drive thru is kind of sketchy when it comes to a handicap person needs to get in. But other than that food is great. But I did have a couple of mess ups on my order.
When we walked in the owner said he had the best tacos in town... at this very moment I couldn't disagree! As busy as they are our food came out hot, in a timely manner, and correct! I've already made plans to return!
Little slow because the customer immediately in front of me ordered 35 tacos. Well worth the extra wait.
I love getting their Breakfast Bowl. I don't need the tortilla carbs. Always Fresh ingredients.

Great food as always. The back dining area needs to be tidied up a bit, but an overall great experience with polite staff.
Love their tacos. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Can't beat this location in North Lamar with ample parking space. They deserved to be seen and be visited from the busy traffic in the area.
