My very favorite place to eat Mexican food. We are regulars here! They have wonderful food and great prices. Service is great. You don't have one waitress, but the whole staff is constantly walking by and refilling drinks and chips. We love this little hole in the wall and love introducing it to new people! Go check them out and grab a margarita!
I've lived 32 years in Austin, and Mexican food is life :-) Camino Real is by far my favorite hole in the wall.
Very friendly and attentive service. Classic local Mexican atmosphere. Great $5.50 margaritas, and the holy grail of cheese enchiladas with gravy - which is of course the standard by which all hole in the walls are measured.
The refried beans are rice are also highly tasty, with obvious attention from those manning the pots in the kitchen, but the best side is a homemade flour tortilla slathered with real butter, rolled up gently, and lightly dunked in their homemade salsa.
A finer meal will never touch your lips, or your soul.
And oh yeah, it's inexpensive, which is nice, but doesn't really matter as one shouldn't judge such a life changing regular experience based on money.
Enjoy!
Place is awesome!! Practically a Sunday staple for me. Food is not expensive ( I don't like the word cheap). Service is great and attentive. I recommend the #32 Carne Asada. Place is a little hole in the wall gem!
I wish there was an its okay button, cheap close to home yes but a little lacking...cant put my finger quite on it. The service is great, and very attentive....a quick and cheap alternative to chuys, just missed the mark a little for us.

Best Beef Fajitas in Town!. My husband and I used to go to the fancy mexican food places in town. This place is cheaper and tastes AMAZING! The service is good and the margaritas are excellent. A must try.
I like it. It's cheap. It's close to home. Salsa is spicy. Service is friendly. Great hole in tha wall spot north of the river.
This place is seriously so so good. My fiancée and I have been coming here for years. Their staff is always so nice, hardworking, and attentive. Know that it can be a little busy in the evenings. By far the best Mexican food in North Austin, hands down. Get the al pastor tacos.
Wow! Dining at Casino Real was a REAL authentic experience. Staff were intentional, personable, and attentive! The margarita on the rocks was freshly squeezed eliminating any fear of acid reflux. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and welcoming and the manger/ owner took the time to speak to a series of tables to ensure a gran dinning experience. It’s worth the stop! The price is great, the food is fresh, and the staff is a delight. Thank you for the experience and for accommodating a party of 10 last minute even with a semi full house. We will be back! *3 top shelf margarita on the rocks, tamale dinner, complimentary chips and salsa plus tip was roughly $40
The best chipotle sauce I’ve ever had - great place, great service and was an oasis of power during the ice storm
This place has delicious food, comes out fast, good margaritas and fair prices. I’ve eaten at many a Mexican restaurants and some I return to, others I don’t. This one keeps me coming back. Is it the absolute best food I’ve ever had? No. But it’s high on my list, nearby, easy parking, I recommend it.
Very delicious Mexican food at reasonable prices. Good selection of menu items all served just as you ordered.
Attentive wait staff and substitutions are OK.
I’ve been here before last year and the service wasn’t as good as this time. They have a new manager I think his name is Gabriel, he is prompt and very knowledgeable about he plates and drinks. We will be coming here more often, the food it’s always been good but they needed that new service manager. Prices are affordable too.
I came here for lunch and had the Chicken Tortilla soup and tacos combo. So good. Service was on point. Tea was fresh. Loved it.
Visited for national taco Tuesday. No specials for that, but I got the daily special of an enchilada and a taco. Very cost effective. Got fresh chips, salsa, ice tea and the food for like 11 dollars. Added a beer and I had a nice lunch. Would recommend if you want a cheap but decent lunch!
Incredible service. Reasonable prices. Chips and salsa are delivered to your table almost immediately. Pleasant waitresses and good food. Try the enchiladas suizas... my favorites and awesome good. The carne guisada (beef tips in sauce) is so tender and delicious. And, for breakfast there are the huevos rancheros, migas as well as pancakes with two eggs and bacon and potatoes for under $10. Try it once and you'll want to go back and try everything on the menu while being pampered by the extraordinary service. One caution... the place packs up on Friday nights... go early or go after 7:30 PM.
Let’s just talk about the salsa. Always freshly made. Sometimes it’s hotter than others, but that’s just the nature of a handmade product. It’s really our favorite salsa in town. The wait staff is friendly though occasionally stressed. I think they have had challenges keeping a full kitchen staff. But it’s the classic dive Mexican place your dad took you to for a breakfast taco and coffee growing up, so it works for me.
