Shiner's Saloon is the quintessential dive bar gem in downtown Austin. The vibrant atmosphere, NIGHTLY live music, and a big selection of 32 beers on tap make it a must-visit. There's something for everyone and is more low key. The bartender Jacob downstairs was kind and helpful helping us find a beer we like. I'll definitely be back for more good times and live tunes!
The chef here is amazing - "off menu" vegetarian nachos were absolutely amazing! Thank you so much. Great local beer selection too.
Great place with less tourist BS. Gorgeous bar, amazing beer selection and mixed, friendly staffed, reasonable prices and free live music.
What's not to love.

Absolutely a great evening. Photo op with the Frost Bank Tower was my plan, met some nice people who worked at Shiner's and a few surrounding areas. It took a little bit to get my food order, the bartender was super nice. Thank you for the step back in time for my genealogy research here as well. Laid back and chill time. Not busy as it was a weeknight. I recommend, I'll definitely return! Thank you, everything was clean too!
Fair price on drinks, has a nice view of the area and a good vibe. We had food as part of a special event and I thought it was very tasty, especially the cheese and bacon potato skins.
Great rooftop with Pinthouse Hazy IPA on tap. Funky. Great music. Games to play with your friends and barkeep knows his stuff. Sliders are a good deal although the melted cheese is a bit messy (covering the plate and bottom of the buns). Tasty and slightly spicy. Nice.
The rooftop bar was a fun stop! The bartender was super nice and there was a little two person band performing. We had a few vodka club sodas but were disappointed they don’t have Tito’s. The potato skins were the best ones ever!
I went to this venue during SxSW and saw the Bourgeois Mystics play, which is a great local band. Which is really the only reason I went there, I'd otherwise not heard of the place, but it was nice. On Congress, in the middle of the madness is this very decent venue.
First, entry, you go up a LOT of stairs, enter and there is a bar, with a band playing inside. You can go towards the back and again up some more stairs and discover a nice outdoor patio and bar. This is where the Bourgeois was playing.
Those Potato Skins are way better than they have to be for bar grub. Also a great bourbon selection as well!
Went for a Huskers football game and felt so welcome. The owners are amazing. Can't recommend enough.
