I was in this plaza for some other reasons and saw this restaurant which just opened at 11 am. It reminded me of my favorite Halal Guys on the east coast, I decided I need to get some!
The restaurant is pretty clean and have enough table if you choose to eat in. The food smells amazing and is made when you order. If you need more of their yummy white or hot sauces (pretty spicy too), they keep them in the fridge to keep them cool and fresh. One of the cool thing they have is the fountain drink, made with organic cane sugar and Mexican Cola to choose from. Their menu is easy to read and the person took my order in the restaurant is friendly with smile on the face. I ordered a lamb kebab and a side of falafel. Portion is huge, lamb is tasty and the falafel come with some hummus. Very happy to find this place in my area, will visit again.
Food is delicious w generous portions. They had my order for pick up ready faster than suggested time but also it was about closing time on a Thursday. I put 4 stars for atmosphere bc I didn’t stay to eat and would only stay if I had to kill time. I recommend using suggested online ordering store front door dash. It’s not annoying like the other apps where you have to make sure you select the right location. It automatically knows when you click from location profile.
Been a few years since we ate here last, but the taste of their Shawarma is still awesome! I don’t remember ordering the kebab before, so we ordered some today. Sadly, it was on the tough side, lamb wasn’t cut in the best way (hence less 1⭐️), although still flavorful. The Falafel, hummus and fluffy Pita…still so yummy!
The servings were of epic proportions, was it always that way? Dang! A plate was good for 2 people, which makes it so affordable.
By far, still tastes a lot better than the franchise that sounds almost like it, but could never compare to it. 😉
This place hits the spot! As a lover of NY's halal carts I was really excited to check out this place and so glad it didn't disappoint. The rice was fragrant and fresh, the gyro and chicken was well seasoned and moist, the salad was crunchy and the sauces were delicious. We at in the store and was one portion was enough to share especially if you're not super super hungry. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!
Met my son here for a birthday lunch35/22 around 1 pm. The food was really good, and the portion size was huge. I brought enough home for another full meal. Yummy, and I surely will come back when I'm in the area, and recommend others. The dining area was clean and spacious and is open for dine-in.
Halal bros keeps it simple, but gets it right every time - their marinations & sauces are to die for! I've had mostly all their dishes - be it the warp or rice, accompanied with chicken, lamb or falafel!
The portions are massive (we're in TX, remember!?), and the food is always made fresh to order!
One of my favorite stops in Austin. The staff here is extremely nice and the food is killer.
My wife and I split a combination plate and each get a gyro when we eat here. It's waaayyyy more food than you think it is.
I really like the lemonade here too.
Updated review: ate in the restaurant today for the first time and ordered gyro over rice with everything on it. OMG love the experience. Food is great. Would definitely do it again.
Original review (delivery) 4 stars: Been looking for a yummy Mediterranean restaurant since we had Skewer's in Melbourne, FL, but have not been lucky. Halal Bros, even though very different in flavor, was another winner in our search for a yummy Mediterranean place.
We ordered combo shawarma with beef/lamb combo meat as well as added chicken, with white and hot sauce. The hot sauce was a bit too much for me, but I don't like chili spice. The white sauce was delicious over everything. The rice was perfectly seasoned; a bit unevenly chunky here and there, but not a deal breaker.
It also comes with chopped lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber.
Only down side is some chicken pieces had cartilage, not a pleasant surprise.
Totally would recommend!
Stopped here on our way back to Houston. They don’t have any seatings available to eat inside. It’s only an online order or take with. The menu is really simple with the wraps or with over the rise. It seems as if there are not many options for Mediterranean food around this place. We all had chicken Shawarma.
One of our favorite place to get halal. Lamb and chicken Shawarma over rice are the usual.. taste well cooked, juicy and tasty.. good portions.
