Moving from West Texas, this place is a breath of fresh air! Service, cleanliness, and the food were all spectacular! I will be back...a lot!
One of the best values, if not *the* best, in Austin for quality sushi at reasonable prices. Their beef bulgoki is a classic hit -- slices of beef in Korean BBQ sauce with carrots and onions. And you can't go wrong with the O Chingo Bokum (phonetic spelling) -- tender octopus in a fiery sauce with veggies.
We were introduced to Korea House for their free meals on the first Wednesday of each month. We've gone four times now and enjoy our new tradition. The food is spectacular! The staff are friendly. Food is ready quickly. It is a limited menu on these days, but still a good variety. As the words has gotten out, it has steadily become busier. Plan to wait at least an hour to be seated. But it's worth it! We've shared a table to other people a few times, which was actually quite fun.

One page set menu to order from (which makes sense), limited to one appetizer per table, and one entree per person!
Service was surprisingly not as slow as I thought it would be compared to the insane amount of people that were there.
Everything we ordered tasted amazing, but the pressure from seeing the line of people waiting outside made me want to get our food, eat, and hurry up out of there so that the next table could get sat! I hope everyone was able to eat, and a round of applause to the hardworking staff and to the generous owner who is providing all these free, delicious meals to our community every month! We went on the first Wednesday of the month so the food was completely 100% free! The place was completely packed and the atmosphere was wonderful~ The servers were so kind even though it was so busy and they had every right to be tired and annoyed. However they were amazing and brought out the food so quickly! Thank you to the chef for making such amazing, delicious, quality, (and healthy food that is much better than campus food) for all of us! And thank you to the owner for your incredible generosity!! There was a volunteer who had a little list where you could leave your contact information for the owner to pray for you :)I will not forget this kindness and will be returning to properly pay!
Additional info: each table can order one appetizer and each person gets one entree. The menu is limited for the free menu and you can’t order something from their regular menu on these days. You can tip (although it may have to be in cash)
I love this place! I’ve been here so many times, and it’s always constant and fantastic. This is hands down my favorite bibimbap. This place converted me to the raw egg in the hot stone even though at first it sounded off putting to me. I love it so much that I forgot to take a picture of the food. As of recently, they now have different types of bibimbap for vegetarians and people who eat less red meat. The people I know and I love everything here. The food is so great, and they are a great business who gives back to the community.
I wrote a review years ago for Korea house, but now I'm coming back and doing it again. Korea house is still absolutely my favorite Korean place here in Austin. You really get the full experience with all the banchan and the food is just so darn good! I cannot ever get over Korea house. If you're hesitant to visit, trust me, you won't ever regret coming here
Took a bit to find this place, but once you find it, it's totally worth it. They don't have a huge menu but they do have your traditional and house specials, you can always dine in fir the BBQ. Got the Dolsot Bibimbap which was very good with the crunchy rice and fresh veggies, but very skimpy on the meats. Also got the House special braised meat with potatoes, it was OK for me, little bit on the sweet side but we got a ton of sides to offset that. Just wish it came with a side of rice. Very good and satisfying, I would definitely come here again
Came with my family and enjoyed ourselves. Ordered Two bbq dishes (galbi and pork belly) that we grilled ourselves along with a special dish (Jongjorim). Also got a seafood pancake. All were good. I’d say the panchan variety (little side dishes) could have been better but mostly they were good quality.
I went for the free meal on wednesday thing and it was amazing! The staff is so friendly and the food is so comforting and rich. Highly recommend! (if you go on the day for the free meal, expect a long line!!)
Great food. Though slow service at peak time on a Friday night. The pork and beef bulgogi for the BBQ were delicious. The kimchi pancake was not crispy enough. All the side dishes were great.
I have had the opportunity to be in a couple of places in South Korea and I had a great experience with the good food I enjoyed there. Korea House by far, is equally excellent and authentic as it gets. A hidden treasure from the far east, in the heart of Texas, that it so happens to be my home. Love this place for way too many reasons.
