During my recent experience, I went to go see blue beetle at the Lamar Alamo Drafthouse. At the time I went, they were doing minor construction/updates to the theater. I was able to experience than you recliner seats. My favorite part about using the new recliner seat is using the new rotating food tray. This is definitely a great update. I hope the other Alamos get this new rotating tray. I look forward to my next adventure at Alamo Drafthouse.
I haven't been to this location in a few years. I was surprised at how much it has been updated. The table and seats are new(to me). They are comfortable and have a small swivel table now. The seats dont recline as much as Moviehouse, but they are very big and comfortable. We had popcorn and fried cauliflower bites. These were the best fried cauliflower I've ever had! They were so tender. Popcorn was good. Cocktails were good.

I'm a season pass holder and frequent Alamo patron, largely thanks to this outstanding theater and its staff. I sometimes go to other local Drafthouse locations (Mueller, Village), but the theaters and the staff at South Lamar are unparalleled.
Everyone I've ever interacted with here has been friendly, kind, helpful, and understanding, even when I have had complicated issues or requests. I haven't heard much about their union in a while, but I hope they secured a favorable contract with management. If they don't, I'm ready to join their picket line again :) They deserve the best!

Amazing experience at this Alamo Drafthouse. The inside design is very unique amongst the Drafthouse in the Austin area. As others have noted there are garages around the theater, when I went on a Friday night there was no problem finding parking.
The waiters and food were top notch and enjoyed the bar style table setup for popcorn, drinks etc as opposed to Lakeline and the Village Drafthouse locations.
A pro tip, in theater one at least, strongly suggest getting row 3 or 4 to avoid having to slouch!
Alamo is a great experience. This location is recently renovated and has improved seats with arms that swing the table in front of you when you're eating. I recommend the fried pickles and the salad with fried chicken. Their chicken fingers are scratch made and go great with their dipping sauce.
The best place to watch a movie and enjoy a cold beer! This movie theater is very cool, unique, and has an really retro vibe to it. It's very refreshing that it's not like all the regal cinemas which are boring. This one has really comfortable leather seats with a long table infront of each row, so the wait staff can place your food and drinks in front of you. It's really nice to have such a wide selection of beer and food for watching a movie! Thanks, I'll be back for sure, this is my new favorite theater!
Love Alamo. We had a great time at the Elf movie party. The staff is amazing, clean theater, tasty eats & drinks, and fun atmosphere.
I took my son to see The Dark Knight, I told the staff it was his first time seeing it and he was mega-excited about it. They'd held tickets for me (I hadn't paid yet), and I was so late, they were holding them out for me as I arrived so I could race straight in. I said I'd pay after, and when the film finished, the guy at the desk excitedly asked my son how it was, made sure I'd enjoyed it, and said they'd taken care of my tickets for me, no need to pay. For a company to be so generous is almost unheard of these days. I was so grateful. Best cinema ever!
I always enjoy Alamo Drafthouse. The layout inside, in the lobby, is different now - you enter through a smaller side door. Also, the sofa seating on the back row was new since I was last there. I liked that it gave more room in the seat/sofa, but not the fact that it didn't recline. So, I may stop getting back row at this theatre.
