We have been coming here for the past few years! Every time we visit Austin we stop by for a quick lunch. The staff is very friendly and informative about their menu. We always order the same items. Chicken Tortilla Soup, Cuban Sandwich, and the Hideaway Burger. Food comes out quick and hot!
If you're tired of having to wait around for places to eat in Austin then this is the place to go.
Food was good portions and everything tasted amazing! Prices were really good too and overall I would recommend it if you're in the area.
The efficient self ordering system also was really nice. Avoids extra transaction time that's unnecessary
Came in here off a flight. We're not even staying at one of the hotels nearby but this place was an option and we made the right choice. The waffles are fluffy, the chicken was incredibly tender, & the fruit was fresh. I don't even usually like strawberries but I found myself eating them right off the plate. The only thing was the bacon wasn't consistent. 1/2 were perfect while the other half was overcooked. All in all, I'm impressed.
Overall, this place is great; and, the flavor was great!
However, there’s room for improvement in service (e.g. explicitly asked to remove bacon from sandwich, dietary restriction, still arrived with 🥓 inside after the wait).
On a side note, the self-serve order system is pretty cool and should streamline the ordering process, when it works. 🙌

Self-served menu with QR code, the food is delicious. Brunch is a great time to go there is live music and must-try flight mimosas and chicken n’ waffles.
First off, the drinks are DELICIOUS, I ordered a mangonada.
The chorizo taco with avocado was so good! I also shared a flight of waffles, the pecan was the winner of all 3 I picked out.
I really enjoyed the dining experience at Hideaway. It has it all - great atmosphere (urban, shabby-chic, casual yet energetic vibe), freshly made food with a great flavor profile, and reasonable prices. I had the Sizzling Chicken Plate. Delicious! This plate could even be split between two people. I recommend the Hideaway.
The food here is absolutely DELICIOUS, and there was a person playing guitar - which added a nice touch to the vibe. There was no wait time, and you use your phone to place your order. Everything was efficient and led to a great experience. I will definitely be back!
The Hideaway is a unique South Austin gem. It's located in a hotel parking lot, and from the outside, it doesn't really stick out much. However, once you enter, you're welcomed by an eclectic and unique decor. The staff are younger hipsters for the most part, and the menu is fun. The food is above average and maybe slightly overpriced, but it if you include the ambiance of the place, it's not too bad. It's not the type of place that you would visit weekly, however 6 to 8 times a year and/or to bring friends or out of towners to experience a little bit of Austin, it's a great place. 👍🏾
I had the pleasure of dining at the Hideaway Kitchen and Bar, and let me tell you, their smoked salmon Benedict is like a culinary symphony in your mouth! The dish had it all – perfectly poached eggs, smoked salmon that was so good it should have its own fan club, and a medley of onions and potatoes that made my taste buds dance. If you're looking for a brunch spot that'll have you coming back for more, this place is an egg-cellent choice! 🍳🥓🥔👌
