Incredibly good, very diverse menu. Incredibly busy last visit. Very solid wonton soup, very solid crispy noodles. Pork chop was good but not the greatest in town, a little greasy. Wouldn't mind going back!

Great food. Of the two Chinese BBQ restaurants in North Austin, this is probably the lesser known due to its location in a "poorer" part of town compared to Hoa Hoa. However, the food here is great, with a big selection of seafood, meat, poultry, noodle and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is located in a mini-Asian town, alongside two Pho noodle shops, a ramen place and a Taiwanese cafe. Din Ho is probably the biggest and most elegant of the restaurants in this neighborhood. The interior is clean and well-decorated. The staff was fast and courteous. And the food was great. It was neither oily, nor did I taste any MSG, which is awesome. The BBQ of course was good, as we tried the duck, pork, and chicken. And the cost was reasonable, actually quite good for the quality of the food.

Still my favorite Chinese restaurant in Austin, although it seems like they have changed cooks. Their delicious hot n sour soup doesn't taste the same as it did when we first started frequenting this place. I'm still a huge fan of their orange chicken and Chinese broccoli!

Legit Chinese. It's still relatively Americanized, BUT it's great. The style is very Chinese and there are tons of options. i definitely recommend the soups - we have several that were super tasty. It's BYOB so come prepared. Even though the website says they have beer - they don't.

Authentic Chinese. Awesome place to eat. The bbq is usually spot on and the food in general is great. Sometimes, the cuts of duck can be questionable, but the flavor is good. The wontons are good as well as the other dishes, especially the seafood dishes. Go eat here!

Stick with the BBQ PORK and you can't go wrong. The duck is also good, avoid the chicken along with the rest of the menu.

Hit and Miss. For the longest time, this was the only Chinese BBQ choice in town. Enjoying its monopoly, you had to put up with Din Ho's salty food, crowded waiting area, and limited availability in BBQ.

Din Ho's BBQ pork is sweet and smokey - a little dark. The BBQ duck is also on the smokey side. First Chinese BBQ on Lamar at Braker in the new Chinatown complex is a much better choice, but Din Ho has the benefit of its location and late hours which attracts UT students looking for late night nosh.

If you're ordering BBQ, call ahead, because Din Ho runs out of BBQ pork and duck quite often. The staff is short-fused and impatient, so it doesn't help asking for explanations.

If you're staying for dinner, they have an extensive and inexpensive Cantonese menu that is flavorful but over salted. Wonton soup is wonderful. So are the noodle dishes. The English descriptions in the menu aren't the most helpful, so definitely ask questions if you're not sure what you want.

Din Ho recently updated its decor which greatly improves the ambiance. Perhaps it's feeling the heat of competition at last?

Tried this place recently. Suprised by how good it was. Authentic asian food. I chickened out and got the sesame chicken, but it was great and was HUGE!

If you have a weak stomach, this probably isn't your place since they have roasted chickens and pigs in the front window.

Will certainly go back and try some other items.

Authentic Cantonese Food. When my team at work wanted to go out for authentic Chinese food, we were directed to this place by my Chinese co-workers. The place is proud of its Cantonese food. The team ordered a sample of many things on the menu. The food was really tasty.

Very nice service. Service was pleasant and efficient and non-intrusive. The food was ok and certainly plentiful, but we agreed we'd order differently next time. Hubby had curry chicken. I had the BBQ Pork and Marinated Chicken combo (with enough leftover for a whole 'nother meal). Next time, I'm getting the sesame chicken I saw at the next table over. It looked really good.

They are known for their roasted meats (duck, char siu). We ordered the walnut shrimp, which was decent-a little too much mayo for my liking. We got fried rice and added Chinese broccoli to it which was amazing-great flavor, well balanced. And we ordered the Beijing duck, which was good-very meaty, not greasy at all, but the skin was not crispy at all. (Beijing duck comes with buns and not pancakes.) Would go again to try the roasted meats. The restaurant was very clean. A bit pricey but seems on par with other Chinese restaurants. And the service was top notch.

We love to try new places but we always come back to this place when in Austin. Authentic food, fast service and the food is always HOT! The meals for groups are priced just right. Pictured is the meal for three. Family owned and perfect for some great food.

I carried out and didn’t eat until 45 min later. The food was still hot, I ordered shrimp fried rice (extra shrimp), sautéed pea shoots (which is the greens in the rice), and chicken and broccoli. The food is good, not greasy, and pretty large portions. We will definitely be going back.

Classic Chinese spot with no frills. My family comes here again and again. My kids “took” me here for Mother’s Day so I could have my favorite Chinese style lobster in town. My kids love the Peaking Duck and we all love the snowpea leaves. This spot can get packed so come early or be ready to wait.

My second visit here in February 2023 was much more impressive than my first time in October. Service was excellent both times, but this second visit the food was really on. I came with work colleagues both times and both times we ordered a lot of food for the table. This visit the pork belly was such a good crispy and chewy delight. The duck was super moist and tender with fresh scallions really elevating the flavor. I'd go back for the service for sure, and based on the last visit for the food as well. Nice spot for lunch or dinner.

I think this is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Austin. They have bbq pork, roasted pork, peking duck, alabone...like every Chinese dish you name they have them. We ordered a lobster and requested them to make it with salt and chili. Perfecto! A bit pricey but I think it's worth it. Come check them out!!!!

Came with a large group! Was able to try many food items and the food did not disappoint! If anything the portion might have been a bit too small.

If you want good ole Chinese food, this is the spot! We heard about Din Ho through a friend and we were finally able to check it out last night. We asked our waitress what to order since it was our first time in and she was so sweet and helped us pick out the best dishes. We ordered the Char Siu BBQ Fried Rice, the General Tso’s Chicken and the Beef Pan Fried Flat Noodles. All of them were extremely yummy and the portions were huge! Not to mention our food came out so fast! The food was so good that we had to keep telling ourselves to stop eating or else we would be overly stuffed. We will definitely be back to try their Sizzling Steak that we saw come out.

I recently visited DinHo BBQ restaurant and had a nice overall experience! The combination of charsiu pork, roasted pork, and soysauce chicken was absolutely delicious. The roasted pork was my favorite - it was cooked to perfection and had the perfect crispy skin. I recommend to have some pickle cabbage as a side to balance the meaty taste. I also loved the sizzling dish (tofu shrimp with bean sauce). Overall, the food and the setup were great and the service was good.
