This place is on the top of our list of best places to have a great authentic meal. I had the Joels Favorite Enchiladas and it was some of the best I have had. The margaritas were incredible for $5 happy hour price. I highly recommend saving room for sopailla cheesecake. Its fabulous. A hidden gem in North Austin. Well worth the drive!

I love ElDorado cafe!! The food is fantastic and I am working my way through the menu as best I can. Highly recommend the puzchkas, the Grande queso, the shiny ribs and the enchiladas. Oh! And the specialty cocktails are fantastic too. I had a margarita one night so fresh and delish and a Sandinista another night a blend of watermelon, ginger beer and vodka. To top it off the staff is happy and helpful. I will be back again and again.

We drove 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to this restaurant, the food was decent but I honestly didn't like the Mole Enchiladas because the mole had a weird taste. I was also a little disappointed that they didn't have flan and we also told the waitress that I was celebrating my birthday but didn't offer a complementary dessert. The top shelf margaritas were virgin margaritas, no alcohol whatsoever, also this is supposed to be a Mexican Restaurant but they didn't have Tres Leches cake.

I had the pleasure of visiting Austin from California after over a decade, and my experience at Eldorado for lunch was truly exceptional. Their Tex-Mex cuisine exceeded all my expectations. The standout for me was the 'Dart Bowl' meal, which I've attached a photo of in this review. This dish is not only delicious but also holds a special place in Austin's history, being named after the iconic Dart Bowl bowling alley that closed after 62 years of operation. I've been craving it ever since! Eldorado offers not just amazing food but also a fantastic and vibrant atmosphere. Meeting the owner was a highlight too – their passion for the restaurant truly shines through. Whether you're a local Austinite or visiting from another city, I highly recommend checking out this gem of a restaurant. Eldorado deserves an A+ rating for its outstanding Tex-Mex and overall experience!

This place really impressed me in all fronts. The service was amazing, everyone was super friendly. The atmosphere was great and had a good vibe to it. The food was so so delicious. We tried the Chicken Flautas, Clyde's fried chicken taco and Papas Rellenas. Each of the dish was super flavorful. Our favorite were the Flautas and the taco. The drinks were also really tasty and strong unlike other places where it would be super diluted. I would definitely be coming back here to taste the rest of the delicious menu.

Everything here is amazing, not afraid to use bold flavors, the new menu items are fantastic, service is always great, bar options are consistent and made well. Definitely can't try everything you want in one visit The only complaints one could have are on the wrong night/lunch there could be over an hour wait which its worth honestly, but the location is a bit small inside with not a gigantic amount of seating and limited accommodations for parties over 8 or 10

My family and I have visited twice in the last six months. The first time, we had the brunch menu, and it was fantastic. The second time, we had the dinner menu, and it was also fantastic. They serve the best Tex-Mex food I’ve had in Texas or perhaps anywhere. Their range of house-made salsas are unmatched! Their service is incredibly friendly. Their restaurant is clean and orderly. I gave 4 stars for service and atmosphere because the restaurant is so packed with people that it can get difficult to hear! I’d love for them to move into a nicer venue, but for the meantime, I will go back every time I am in Austin!

This was my first time at Eldorado Cafe. I went for chili relleno but they have it on Thursdays. I was a day late. LOL I think I already did a review for this restaurant but it came up on my review site so I thought I wouldn't mind bragging about the place again! Lindsey, my server, was wonderful, and the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. I ordered chicken enchiladas with beans and rice and a delicious Margarita on the rocks... That did NOT come in a tiny cocktail glass like I've seen in some Mexican restaurants. I was so pleased!!! The food came out pronto, and the chips and salsa they served beforehand was mmmwhaa! There was a man at the table next to me complaining about the choice of table that his family had secured while waiting for him. I was wondering why his family members didn't greet him or say hello when he got to the table. His wife didn't talk to him and his son didn't talk to him. Then I realized why. He was a negative Ned, big time. I so wanted to say, dude you're at El Dorado Cafe! Chill! Sorry, I just couldn't help but notice how unhappy the poor man was as soon as he walked in. When I walked in I was like, this place rocks! (Hope he had a better night. But enough about him!) As soon as I walked in I saw all of the staff with big smiles on their faces and they looked like they were really enjoying working there. Genuine, friendly, warm people and atmosphere. And fun! I'm sorry that the pictures haven't done the food justice. I need to get a new phone because the lenses are cracked on my camera. I also included some videos that I took in which I probably am talking incessantly. Sorry about that too! LOL

The restaurant is very popular and a reservation should be made. It's located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. If you're there early, you can grab a drink and sit outside. The restaurant was clean and simply decorated. The salsa sampler was very cool and has a range of spiciness. The complementary chips came out warm. The Rene's Awesome Enchiladas was very delicious and perfectly portioned. The dish has really good flavors and you'd want to mix it all up for a flavourful bite.

Amazing food and service. This is a must visit when in Austin. Our server was fantastic and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The award winning chilli and tater tot tacos were a must have. A fantastic meal all around, although you must book for a table!

One of the most tastiest burrito I have eaten in a while. The taste was unique. The crispy potatoes in the burrito was the perfect part and the crunchy bite was amazing. The variety of sauces was also good and each one of them tasted good and unique in its own way. Will definitely visit again.
