Our anniversary dinner here last night was truly outstanding. The intimate and relaxed atmosphere set the perfect tone for the night. The drinks were expertly crafted, and the food was nothing short of amazing and creative. Yet, what truly took our night to the next level was the extraordinary service provided by our server, Lily. It’s rare to encounter such a dedicated and personable server who goes above and beyond to create a memorable dining experience. Her menu recommendations were spot on and made our anniversary celebration all the more special. We are so excited to return for the next menu theme

Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but they story behind the menu is incredible! They change out the menu every few months and the chef creates all of the recipes for the new menu. Everything we’ve eaten here has been cooked and seasoned perfectly. Nothing is ever over or undercooked. Even the appetizers are perfectly cooked and a celebration of flavors! The atmosphere is so posh and comfortable and the service is exceptional! We feel like royalty every time we go. We are already planning our next group date night there.

Such a nice atmosphere and excellent idea of bringing amazing recipes from all over the world. This will be my place to go whenever I visit Atlanta. You can feel the passion of the owner and the staff to make you have a wonderful evening. I also loved the exceptional cocktail coconut based.

We liked the concept so went for dinner and tried over 7 dishes from the menu. They were on Ireland for the VISA menu at this time. We ordered from both menus to really get a full experience. Everything was good, portions are smaller than what we are used to here in the US tho. But I think the idea is to order alot and share everything with the table so you get to try as much as the chef has to offer.

Love the service and decor of this location. Ken was so welcoming and walked us through the menu and recommendations. This a great date spot, and reservations are recommended. The food features international foods from various countries and every 3 months they have a spotlight menu on a specific country. Who founded some of the food picks can be hit or miss. We ordered the eel sushi, plantains, Cambodian ribs, and one of the chowders. The sushi was ok with a unique take on the soy sauce dip. The plantains were amazing with a unique sauce and taste. Not too sweet or savory, just perfect. I'd pass on the ribs as they were too sweet, but the vinegar dipping sauce was good. We really really loved the matcha mousse dessert at the end, which had graham crust and a thick decadent layer of matcha mousse on top. Could not get enough It was a creative take on various international foods that can sometimes miss the mark if you're familiar with traditional preparations. But there were many that were phenomenal. It was a great restaurant experience that'd we definitely revisit.

Quite possibly the best evening atmosphere in the city with a constantly evolving international menu to match. Simply waiting for a table in the lounge is an experience of it's own. Highly recommend for several visits as the menu changes cuisine by country of origin regularly.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Just went for Papua New Guinea menu and it was amazing. The short rib stew and the kaukau appetizer were out of this world. I hope they keep one of those items for long term enjoyment. My parents are coming from out of town and we are taking them back there so they can try it.

This is the second wedding anniversary my husband and I have spent at the consulate; and it was truly just as great as the first! We were thrilled to see our favorite from the previous Korean menu still available! (Bulgogi squid ink pasta a CANT miss!) The waiter informed us of a possible longer drink time due to a staffing issue, and it wasn’t a problem at all! Drinks were fast and delicious. The most special part of our evening was the very sweet owner, who took a moment to indulge my numerous questions about the STUNNING interior design! All in all my husband and I have decided we will be spending all of our anniversary’s here from now on :) Also also: the matcha mousse was hands down the best dessert we’ve ever had!

My husband took me to The Consulate Restaurant for my birthday dinner. Our server Cindi was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us some great food and drink recommendations. Our starter was the Battambang Market Ribs (Cambodia). Our entrees were the Nuuk Chops (Greenland), Jollaf Rice with chicken added (West Africa)- this dish was spicy which I enjoyed!, and sautéed string beans (China). We forgot to take a photo of the string beans before eating them but they were delicious! For drinks we had a Lemon Drop, Old- Fashioned and a Moroccan Sunset. Overall, amazing experience and we will definitely be coming back!

Tabby was in town and in usual Tabby flow she was exploring the atlasobscura website and came across The Consulate. As such, we decided to go. We had reservations for 06:15 on a Friday. Arriving about 20 minutes early as traffic happened to be light, we were able to be seated early without any issues. Upon entering the restaurant the hallway decor captures your attention as you focus on the selected hues of blue and artwork placement. Upon being seated we were immediately greeted by Cindy. Cindy arrived all smiles coupled with a huge personality and warm welcome. As this was our first time she took a moment to explain to us the menu selections, geographical inspiration, as well as answer the few questions we had about select items. Cindy’s education of the menu and experience with the foods added to the food deciding experience. Major shout out to Cindy. The ambiance of the restaurant is high energy, captivating and explorative. As you look around the restaurant it puts you in the mindset of being inside one of the classic true to theme castles in an Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider movie. LoL! At any moment Laura Croft could walk in and grab one of the items on display and head out for her next mission. LoL! I decided on the String Beans with a side of Mexican Rice and I was more than satisfied with the flavor profile of my meal. The string beans were flavor stacked with the slight sweet from the sauce and the spice from the peppers. The texture was spot on for a true sautéed experience as well as the portion was perfect… The Mexican rice paired well with the string beans as it provided a texture variation as well as it was seasoned well but not overpowering in comparison to the string beans. This was truly a 10/10 experience. The service, the environment, and the food were all superb. Whether for a personal 2 person dinner or after work friend vibe, The Consulate is truly a must try for any occasion.
