We ordered Malaysian Samosa , Pineapple fried rice , Panang Curry.
Everything was delicious. Atmosphere was good.
Food had good authentic flavours.
There were a lot of vegetarian options as well so overall a good experience.
Very cute place !!! There was no wait time during the lunch hour. The waitress was friendly and checked in often. The food was spectacular !!!
How this place isn't rated higher than it is, I don't understand. I guess this might directly tie to notable differences in locations, menus, dish selected, or day of week as much as experiences with this cuisine. Here's the short recap of my experience at the Akers Mill location: I came, I saw, I ate, and enjoyed - even the leftovers eaten cold the next day. I will be back. Now for more detail.
Impressions:
Decor and ambiance -
Aside from the fabric design choice for the backs of the booths, I loved the decor, from the entry doors and the design all through the place. And it smelled fantastic in the foyer.
It was a Monday evening so it was fairly quiet though not completely dead as far as diners present. (There was a steady flow of take-out/food delivery.) The ambuent music choice was interesting. It was all piano music, sounding like it came from the same or similar artist. But it was a mix of movie theme songs, the Disney theme song, some soft popular music, and hymns/classic Christian music standards. 🤔😅
The customer service was great and the presentation of the food was impeccable. The flavor did not disappoint, fully living up to the visual hype. The dish I had was the Buah Mango Tofu dish from the vegetarian side of the menu. This consists of tofu and mango spears sauteed with sliced bell peppers in a mildly spicy sweet and sour sauce set on a bed of a type of rice noodle and a halved mango.
Crispy spring roll , delicious massman curry( replace meat for tofu ) pannag curry and pad thai noodles - loved it. We go every fortnight and taste has always remain same( which is great)
Who says veggie people dont get much options?
Food and service were excellent. We went for lunch and the portions were huge. Two main dishes with rice and soup, two appetizers, and two cokes - all for less than $50. Recommended.
I have eaten Pad Thai to go a few times from this restaurant. The food is good. They really give you a huge portion of Pad Thai which is great. They are able to modify and offer a vegetarian Pad Thai. It is definitely enough to eat twice. The staff at the restaurant has always been abundantly nice whenever I have come to eat. The carry out orders have always been completed in time. I have always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant.
A great Thai restaurant with a nice vibe on the inside. Roti Cani was an amazing appetizer. Soft, delicious, flavorful roti with a tasty sauce. Pad see U was my entree and it was sweet and flavorful. Pineapple fried rice might be the best dish I’ve ever had. The raisins and curry powder elevate the dish to a fusion masterpiece. Finally, the mango sticky rice for desert put the Cherry on top for an amazing dinner. Would recommend if you’re in the mood for Thai
Great Beef Red Curry, though more veggies than meat, but heat was there. Price was right.
Tried Squid basil a month later, very good but had to add the heat myself… If you like it really spicy, as I do, ask for green pepper!
The ambience is nice. The decorations includes various spices placed in glass jars in the wall and in the tables. We were here for lunch, had asked for the comfortable coach + chair, we were told they are reserved and were given table of four chairs. The table is quite small to hold 4 plates, containers, glass and starters. Anyways had to manage. The lady who served us was was friendly and courteous. The food quantity was just right for one person. The pad Thai, spicy spaghetti was more sweet, with chili flakes. Was not very happy with the taste of the food. It was more sweeter. We finished our lunch in 45-50 minutes and till then those so called reserved seats were vacant. I hope they consider the guest request and let us give a comfortable seating for an enjoyable experience.
Stopped in for dinner before a show at Cobb Energy. Started off with the lychee Martini, and then another! The samosas and lettuce wraps were the stand out appetizers and are not to be missed! Both were crispy and spicy. For mains, My friends got the Masaman and Penang curry and I went with Penang Char Kway Teow.
