The Astoria Bagel shop located on Ditmars Blvd is a small and a bit of a secret to those that live in the area. A local who I spoke to side these were among the best in the city. The Bagels were as good, if not better than the others I have had previously.
The shop had several baked goods such as baguettes, breads, and a variety of cream cheeses. There are several coolers with different beverages for the morning or anytime during the day. The staff is efficient and customer oriented, despite the line that forms in the morning. Most of the morning, the bagels are fresh out of the oven and do not need toasting.
The one caveat I would give is that the coffee is pretty basic. It gets the job done but it is not a for the coffee snob. I was just fine with it.
Side note: They put a lot of cream on them. Ask for "easy on the cream cheese" if you do not want a heavy amount.
In Astoria for work. I saw a bagel shop and decided to stop. Glad I did. Exceptional bagels. So good I went back to bring some home to NJ. I love bagels and have many from numerous places. These are absolutely amazing.
I had a whole wheat bagel with lox and jalapeno cream cheese + coffee.... Delicious 😋😋😋 Great smiling and attentive service....

Underratedly delicious bagels. Chewy inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. Definitely made right. Friendly and fast staff. Go here and you won’t be disappointed!

Hands down the best bagel & spread in Astoria/LIC. Vastly superior to the busy place on 23rd Ave. Crispy, light and not too doughy -- don't even think about toasting this bad boy. I want to keep it a secret but they need support. Go here!!!
Best bagels in Astoria. The place is bare bones and super old school, so you know the bagels are excellent. Try them out and see for yourself. Let's support our local businesses.
As a former resident of Astoria -- This is by far not only the best bagel place in Queens -- but the entire City of NY -- I have driven from Canada and back just to eat these -- I haven't been back since 2019 -- but this is the first place i'm going as soon as I set foot in the city --
I've lived in NYC for 14 years. I've eaten a lot of good bagels. While a lot of bagel places have slowly changed their ways, Astoria Bagel Shop is doing things the old school way. No corners are cut. Every bagel has the perfect ratio of crisp to bite. The owner is there every day, working hard, making sure you're getting an awesome bagel. The staff are great. Get these bagels. They're amazing.
