I’ve been to many Indian restraints, so I am a strict rater. Very nice place and employees, the food is at an excellent price keeping it just under 20 per person, and I will definitely be coming here more often. The employees are also very nice and accommodating. I also like that the rice comes with the curry at no extra cost and they’re big portions.
Such a pleasure to have stumbled upon this spot in Queens! My expectations were seriously exceeded because every aspect of my visit was just spot on:
The atmosphere was clean and comfortable with a touch of upscale.
The food: reasonably priced and tasty. I got the lamb pasanda which had a rich texture and balanced flavors. To complement, I had garlic naan and a glass of Malbec.
The cherry on top has to be the service. The server was very efficient while making sure everything with my order was perfect. I ended up having a nice chat with him and got his name (Neil). Make sure to tip him good because he deserves it!
I’m honestly shocked that this place didn’t have more visitors given I had such a great experience. Definitely will be coming again to try other things on the menu!
This can easily be the best Indian restaurant I’ve been. I appreciate the cleanliness, fresh ingredients, and high quality food. Food is not too salty, spicy, or heavy (it’s the case in most Indian restaurants). It’s a small family restaurant. The attention to details shows in their food and the maintenance of space.
A Great Atmosphere to dine-in with a cute bar space.
Loved the food here :) good quality and very authentic
Good restaurant. Decent size & cozy. Perfect for a date. Unfortunately I came by myself lol but the food was amazing and will be bringing my wife here next time.
Great service! I tired chicken masala with naan which was delicious. Authentic Indian cuisine in the neighborhood. Will recommend everyone look for quiet seating’s for Indian cuisine. I’m so glad they have catering services.
I've been to Saffron at least 20 times and absolutely love it. I get the same order so can only speak to the chicken vindaloo and the sweet naan (I don't remember the name of it), which is all fantastic. It's slightly different each time which I don't mind, that's how you know it's a real kitchen! Magda is a lovely waitress and the rest of the staff are attentive and kind as well. It's a great cozy little spot to tuck into on a cold night. Definitely an Astoria hidden gem.
Love this place! So, so much flavor. Everything dish has been delicious.
Very big portion for lunch
Got the chicken tikki masala extra spicy, delish
The lamb vindaloo was also delish!
I found the lamb to be slightly more tender then the chicken
Both chicken and lamb were nicely sized chunks of meat
Also the garlic naan is always delish
Will order again!
When Spice Kitchen in Maspeth sold to new owners and went completely down the drain, they broke my heart.
Saffron has not only mended it, I think I love them more than I ever loved Spice. We've ordered at least 15 times now.
You can't go wrong here, but our standard (delivery) order is Channa Masala, Aloo Tikka, Vegtable Pakora, Chicken Tikka Masala, and of course, Garlic Naan. Everything is amazing and no, I can't cut any of those out of the order. We might throw in some Aloo Gobi or Chicken Chaat or something, but those are non-negotiable and they hit every time!
Even delivering farther away than is probably best, the food is hot and wonderful. Can't wait to stop in soon!
