ordered pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were great. Bacon was probably some of the best bacon I’ve ever had in my life five star and they gave my dog a primo treat well done!!
Great place for breakfast. Went in after hiking the NipMuck Trail. Nice atmosphere and food was sensational. For breakfast 100% would recommend chicken fried steak and eggs.. it was perfect and tender. Breading was flavorful and gravy just right. Our waitress Sophie was polite and attentive. Appreciated her positive spirit and smile. The receptionist or greeter was not there when we arrived and we were advised to sit anywhere. Once she did arrive, she made us feel a bit unwelcome with stare downs and just awkward comments. I think the lady with the accent could learn a lot about treating people right from the waitress Sophie. I would go again. But definitely not want to sit anywhere near the greeter with the accent.
Just moved to Ashford and had to find a breakfast place. Right down the road from us, so super convenient! The atmosphere is cute, and the staff was very friendly. There were a lot of great menu items, and the food we got was delicious! My favorite was the homemade corn beef hash. Will definitely be back!
Very delicious and plentiful breakfast. Coffee was nice and smooth as well. Staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Very yummy breakfast. Their omelets are stuffed with filling and the potatoes are really well seasoned. Although they were busy and there was an understandable wait they were attentive and our food came quickly. Will be coming here again :)
We had a 20 minute wait to get seated, but I'm glad we decided to stick around for a table. I had the biscuits and gravy and a single slice of apple pie French toast. The gravy on the biscuits was downright amazing. The rest is the meal was fantastic and the service was excellent even though the place was very busy.
I love the Wooden Spoon. Their house made hash is out of this world and the small town hole in the wall diner is as authentic as it can be. They have a wonderfully unique call ahead drive through window and an ever rotating daily special. I highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here! They are cash only but there IS an atm here so no worries.
The owners are English I believe....the guy is like a Chef Ramsey clone. He can rub you the wrong way if you rightfully..deserve it..lol. Regardless he is a master at his craft. You will not find a better breakfast I promise. His lunch menu is just as mastered. There is nothing I have had that was other than off the charts spectacular. If you can mind your manners, be respectful & courteous you will also adore this hidden gem!
The wait is usually worth it! I personally don't go here that often because I have a preference to another breakfast spot, but I can't deny how much my husband loves their biscuits and gravy. Plus I made a bacon waffle and that was yummy.
Ordered the spoon skillet and could have shared with 2 as the portion was very large. This is my second time going and I will be stopping again when in the area
