Absolutely amazing!! Food was very flavorful, drinks were perfect, and service was warm and attentive. Would love any excuse to come back over here.
It's not your "OMG let's go there" place but more of "Oh I'm hungry I guess this is okay" The food was decent our waitress was sweet and the place was cozy. It's not somewhere you would go for a drink. Their music was at a decent volume. I was able to converse with my friend and hear the waitress.
A hidden gem off main street in Asbury. You might struggle to find the door as Plaza Tapatia also has a grocery store and liquor store. Cozy restaurant with phenomenal drinks my friend said it was the best margarita she ever had (I'm partial to the mechelada). Menu has all of the staples and I struggle to mention a single dish because every time I come here I try something new and I'm always blown away. Guac is incredibly fresh and the salsa/chips you get before the meal will leave you full before you even have dinner. Cannot recommend this place enough
Food was excellent. Margaritas we're on point- nice and smooth. Service was kinda slow. And when we arrived it wasn't really busy at all. Overall good experience and I would recommend. I got the paella and it was delicious.
This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant! Here are a few of my favorite things: al pastor chimichanga, chicken mole tamale, and the steak quesadillas. Both the green and red salsa they give you for the table are good. The sangria is AWESOME and I’m picky with sangria. I would recommend the red if you like red and peach if you prefer something lighter.
We've been looking for a good mexican restaurant since our favorite on on route 35 closed down. I think this could be our meeting favorite. Shrimp in garlic cream sauce was excellent. Bistek enchiladas were also very good. Great food store next door if you like cooking mexican food at home. Super friendly staff - even if they didn't speak English, they still tried to help us (in the market. Restaurant was not an issue). We'll be back.
My family left Bradley Beach very hungry and found this small Mexican restaurant few minutes away. My vegetarian enchilada and my husband Chimichangas Loca were as amazingly good, as they look in the picture.
As we were undecided to what sauce to put on our dish, the waitress kindly brought out samples so we can pick the one we like. The waitress was warm and on top of the refill and xtra chips. Virgin Piña Colada was ok. The price went well with the big portions. Menu had lots of option and i was happy with the many vegetarian selections. Great place to eat or have drinks!
Went for a date night in December and it was a great place to go. The seating was good and the food was fantastic. Attached is a picture of the chorizo tacos, which were so good. The rice and beans left a little too be desired (in terms of flavor) but they were a nice side. My go-to Mexican joint in Asbury has been Loteria but La Tapatia is now a serious contender, especially if I'm hankering for more traditional Mexican.
My favorite Mexican place in Asbury Park. My 5 year old learned to love guacamole here. Back again for my oldest's 17th birthday. Still great food and service. Wife is pounding the margaritas too.
The food was delicious and their drinks are the best. Is a nice place if you want to go with your family or friends. Margaritas thumps up. 👍
