Love sono restaurant! The staff are great and the food even better. I recommend it!
What to expect when you come to Sono; a warm and friendly welcome, a table in one of their many little alcoves, private and intimate spaces to share a meal with friends and family, a crisp, white tablecloth and beautiful, modern, funky service ware. I especially love the various shapes and sizes of bowls and vessels for soups, sake and sauces; all in pure, bright white porcelain , the large plates and bowls with wide rims are gorgeous and classic with a very modern Asian feel. Ah, the lighting. The pendant lighting is perfect for the space, accenting each table with a different color light in soft shades of green, blue, purple and red to name a few. Flowing downward from each floating light, the blown glass bubbles in the cylindrical lamps reminds me of bubbles rising to the surface of water, the restaurant lighting, including recessed lighting on the ceiling which slowly changes shades, very artfully and expertly done...very visual, a detail you can not help but appreciate when you are sitting at your table, taking in the ambiance and theater of this most novel approach to lighting. Once the food arrives you realize you are sitting in a five star restaurant with 2-3 star prices, what a gift from the gods! The food is sublime and so beautifully arranged and presented, so carefully and thoughtfully created for your dining and aesthetic pleasure. Just plan on ordering a meal or two to take away, you'll want to recreate the experience the next day for lunch. You will find yourself returning again and again for the excellent service and attentive staff. Five star cuisine, five star staff, amazing sushi chef, lovely wait-staff and bar service. I wish I lived in Arlington.
Really generous portions. We loved the shrimp tempura dinner. Steak was tasty. Edamame was fresh. Nice that they offer brown rice as an option, too! Allow up to an hour for delivery.
Five stars! Great sushi, kind quick service and family friendly. Look no further for a great dinner in Arlington!
Clean place with fresh tasting fish, what more can you want? I was hesitant to try at first due to no reviews, so I’m writing one. I don’t eat sushi often but I tried Sono because it is local and convenient. Now I only go to Sono! They are quick and efficient (can get busy during regular food “rush hours,” standard). The fish is always fresh (never even questionable, been a dozen+ times) and the people are friendly. Great for takeout, also has a bar and a small dining area.
This is my go-to sushi place in Arlington - everything is always so fresh and tasty, and the service is quick. We have also ordered some of the dishes from the kitchen (noodles, soups, tempura etc) and they are always very good.
Good sushi and fried rice
Consistently good food. Our favorites are the pan fried gyoza, chicken yaki udon, and chicken thai curry.
