Chapp Happy. Talk about a place that never disappoints, Chapps is it! Unfortunately, I do not have the pleasure of having one in my neighborhood, so I have to take advantage of going to one when I am in their area. I was totally unaware that one exists in Arlington/Kennedale. Those of you living here are lucky indeed.

I had the jalapeno cheddar cheeseburger, and if you look at the picture, you will be amazed at how good it looks. This is not photoshopped. The burger actually came to me this way. A good half pound of what they say is Nolan Ryan Angus beef. It sure tastes as good as some of my other favorite burgers. You order at the counter and tell them what you want on it. When it is ready they will call your name and bring it out to you. They have a number of different sides, but I had the normal fries. I must say the amount of fries that came with them was like a small McDonalds order. They were okay, but kind of flaccid yet flavorful. A reminder: They do not have lunch combos, so everything is separate (a la carte). Nevertheless, the positive aspects of the burger far outweigh the negative ones of the fries. Heck, if you need to have a side with your burger, why not just order another burger?

Don't come looking for atmosphere either. There is one television which had Fox4 News on during lunch and there really isn't much else to speak of other then a few western photographs, and a number of pictures of Nolan Ryan eating in Chapps from a good ten years ago (probably a tie-in with the Nolan Ryan beef, ya think?). Drinks are refillable here, and service, what there is of it, is good. I really wanna like this place and guess what???? I DO!

My favorite burger, I love the baby chaps, a little smaller with a order of their great fries.

"Burgers to die for". Baby Chapps, cheddar cheese, all the way (lettuce, tomato pickle), mayo, mustard, and extra grilled onions..oh and a side of ranch. Their slogan is an understatement. These burgers are so flavorful, juicy and loaded with good stuff, you'd think you died and went to burger heaven. Simple but incredible burger. The mushroom & swiss is my second favorite. Onion rings crunchy, fries not too salty, and generous portions for a good price. These burgers are pretty big, unless you get the Baby Chapps. I used to work here in my teenage years and I can never stop coming back in.

Chapps is a staple on this side of Arlington. I grew up coming here for dinner often. I love that they use Nolan Ryan beef, a delicious tribute to the Texas Rangers legend. The dining room is also decorated in tribute to Texas. The burgers are good, though the fries tend to be burnt. The philly cheesesteak was tasty, though a hit lacking in meat. I took a star off for service, which seems to have gone downhill over the years. The place wasn't busy when I arrived, but it still took a few minutes to be acknowledged and order at the front counter. My food took a while to come out, longer than expected for so few customers. Good restaurant, staff needs more training in customer service.

Made a rough morning so much better. Some days ya just need to hit the reset and try again. After a nasty encounter with a customer I had to do just that. Hungry mad and frustrated I went looking for lunch. I wasn't looking for a burger but boy did I find a great one. half lb mushroom burger overflowing with taste character and toppings. fries were a little overcooked for my taste but it didn't diminish the experience. yeah I will be back. Burger fries and a beverage for 15. a little pricey but if you compare to chain joints its only about 3 bucks more. well worth it.

I normally don't write reviews, but every single bite from my Bacon Burger w/grilled Onions, down to the extra fries at the bottom of the bag was absolutely delicious. I ate here on Memorial Day 2022...keep it up guys. See you soon
