When life presents situations that are out of the norm we usually tend to try to make sense of it all. If you're a fan of going to the bar or just eating out for fun then you'll probably feel a bit out of place when first entering "ITZ" which provides a kiddish atmosphere that is meant for adults. If you seen the commercials for "ITZ" then you've probably viewed the images of adults playing on arcade games, bumper cars, and carnival games; things that usually a small child or preteen enjoys. My first impression of "ITZ" form their commercials is that it was a little arcade place with food and a place to act like a kid again. This is not what they provide. While my first impression seemed correct about weird it would be to attend a place where you act like a child, I came out smiling I wasn't expecting the over abounding presentation and hospitality they provided. The first thing you'll notice when you enter the San Mateo Building for ITZ is the front desk and couple employees with an arcade to the left and a hallway leading to the right of the building that holds the eating quarters. When at the front desk if you're still a bit skeptical of the type of experience you'll have, you can ask to just look around or have someone give you a tour. If taking the tour, you'll be asked to continue down the corridor on your right (if facing the desk). When you've passed through the corridor you'll be standing at the far end of a very large buffet room. This whole area is surrounded by a cartoon lounge, a theater, a sports bar and a 60's themed diner room. The first room you'll see is a room called "Toons". This room is a "24/7" cartoon watching area that you can take yourself and or your kids to. While I did not enter this room myself (even though i'm a total cartoon lover) this room allows you to eat, drink, and watch cartoons for as long as you like. Painted yellow with tables and chairs set up in a a diner fashion and a big projector screen at the far end, this room is plainly stated as "Cartoony". The next room, simply called by the employees as, "The Theater" is just that, a theater with a similar diner table and chair setup as the Toons room. Entering, "The Theater" you'll be greeted with a darkened atmosphere with a full length feature film starting, or already playing. You'll be able to eat and drink in this room as well. The last 2 rooms in this area are the sports bar and the 60's diner. The 60's Diner is for people who would just like to talk or maybe eat without a bunch of distractions. Probably the most quiet of the whole building if you want somewhere to just relax quietly this is your type of place. The sports bar, is absolutely amazing. With multiple screens sporting different games ranging from Hockey,Baseball and Basket ball (and more) if you're wanting to watch a big game that you can't get at home you'll most likely be heading to this room. In the middle of all these rooms is the buffet. Very large and blasting with music you are invited to just have a good time dancing, talking with the employees and even requesting special foods! While at first you'll see a preset type of pizza, pasta and desserts, you are not limited to just what is presented. One employee of whom you can request goes by the name Dennis the Menace. This employee is one in a million, he's happy he's funny, he's just plain weird. This guy cooks any type of pizza. When I was there Dennis offered a taco pizza, which surprisingly tasted like a taco and a pizza, so if you do go to this location be sure to talk with him. I'l only be commenting on this area as I cannot explain how fun the arcade area turned out to be. If you're looking for a fun activity to do with friends, family, or even with the girlfriend. I highly suggest going to ITZ.
