There was an old time jam at Tractor and my husband wanted to play. I brought a stack of books that had just come in the mail, grabbed a seat at the bar, and was promptly served a cocktail. As I settled in, the woman next to me asked to look through one of the novels, Invisible City. Earlier in the day, when I saw the book, I didn't remember that I had bought it or why. This lack of recognition means I had probably been drinking when I bought it but it also immediately imbued the novel with a mysterious force, like it had a will and purpose all it's own. After a few minutes of reading the woman asked if she could buy the book off of me but it seemed so fateful that I gifted it to her instead. We were both grateful, she for the book and me for a fleeting moment when everything made perfect sense. There is magic in Albuquerque, music, books, strangers, and a happy hour Manhattan.

Tractor Brewery in Nob Hill exceeded my expectations in every way possible, and the shining star of my visit was undoubtedly bartender extraordinaire, Austin. From the moment I walked in, Austin's warm greeting set the tone for a fantastic evening. Favorite spot in Albuquerque! Good vibes and ambiance! My favorite bartender is hands down AUSTIN! He is the sweetest. He always remembers my name and drink order. 10/10!! I always enjoy the beers and the mix drinks. The old fashions are to die for, hands down my favorite place!
