Aya's is our best discovery this summer. We've come several times and are never disappointed. We often start with gyoza which are moist and cruchy, Some of the best we've ever had; whatever seasoning is in their meat mix is wondeful. My husband's go to dish is the teriyaki chicken; it's not sweet ( a huge plus for him). He also likes the various vegetables that come with this (have been different each time) and the Aya's are helpful in identifying the unfamiliar ones for him. I'm more experimental but my favorite so far has been the ten-don. I love tempura and their batter is light; no biting into a piece that is mostly batter. I really liked that the tempura-ed veggies were julienned rather than a whole broccli floret, a whole mushroom etc. I like the miso soup and it has been subtly different each time but all good. Another time I ordered the tempurs Moriawase because the platter meal is often too much food. I was sorry that the tempura veggies on this one were the big pieces like everywhere else and not julienned. All still delicious. Today I tried the Bento box special. Again way more that I could eat but plenty left to take home. There were three different dipping sauces and the Aya's really shine at matching the right sauces. I usually do hot tea and they serve it in 10-12 oz ceramic glasses/cups. Much better than the usual teeny cups and a common pot as I sweeten and my husband does not. Have never made it as far as dessert although i am curious about the cornflakes in many of them. My husband is salt-sensitive and happily most things are not highly salted (he does have mostly skip soup and some sauces). Looking forward to many more good times here.

I love this place. The food is beautiful and bright with a wonderful balance of flavors. I'm a vegan and finding Japanese food that I can eat is a challenge. Their menu has a helpful allergy guide for each item and I found a number of vegan dishes. There is no egg in the tempura batter so I was excited. The Vegeten-don is delicious! I also recommend the Agedashi Tofu.

By far one of the best homestyle Japanese food in abq! The bento box literally can be for two! They have a children's size Japanese fried chicken set. They also accommodated special dietary restriction for the kids okosama set.

You have to try this place. It is one of the best places I've tried for Japanese food. The family that runs the business just moved here from Japan (so you know they're legit.) Rarely have I gotten a big bang for my buck in a Japanese restaurant. But this place. Let me tell you. Get their bento box. It is wonderful. You get chicken katsu, a salad, tuna poke, a seaweed salad, a refreshing regular salad with a ginger sauce, tempura, miso soup, and gyu-don for $15.00!!!! It's so filling. It is definitely a must try!!!

We were starving on Christmas eve and this place was open. We were pleasantly surprised at the tastiness of the food. My husband ordered sushi, which was tasty. I ordered a chicken, egg, and onion dish on rice. It was a very good mush of food. The waiter was nice. The food seemed to be freshly made, so it took a little time to get our food. Overall, a good experience.

I was born and raised in Japan. I miss the culture, the food, and the people. This restaurant took me back into time! Food is just as good as I remember it to be and I have tried different Asian restaurants everywhere! So much memories! And the owners/cooks are just delightful! Great people, great food! What more can we ask for!

Really good Japanese fare. It is fairly authentic, and the food is quite tasty. It is very rare to find a Japanese restaurant that isn't sushi, hibachi, or ramen. All of those are great foods, but there is a lot more to Japanese food than that! This restaurant at least provides a taste of what else Japan offers to eat.

The service was fantastic. They are really polite and make sure you are comfortable. The food was also fantastic. It is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been too.

I love Aya's. The food is what Japanese food should be: simple, well-made, and high quality ingredients. It seems like maybe they are out of business, and I sure hope not. This is Albuquerque's best Japanese food, and if it closes for good, it'll be our loss. I hope they reopen.

The food is amazing, and the Japanese sodas are fun! I recommend trying something you have never tried before, have your server surprise you. The environment is super clean and relaxed. Great for a date night and parfait.

Excellent local place for incredible Japanese food. This will be my go to for Japanese cravings. Sweet friendly staff, with "everyone's favorite Japanese grandma" as the chef and 90's Jpop music playing. It can't be beat.
