Added: Both times I have been here the staff was extremely friendly & accommodating. All of the food we ordered was AMAZING! They take special orders seriously & serve within a timely manner. Definitely will be back to try more of their wonderful menu choices.
Just wow.....first time here, LOVE it! Shelby was our waitress, she's sweet as pie and super helpful as far as special dietary requests. The food was good. The atmosphere friendly. We'll definitely be back. Great variety in menu offerings.
What a feed-bag surprise! We stopped in Albany on the way to meet some friends for the July 4th Holiday, and picked the Branding Iron randomly. The parking lot was full so we found a spot and got a seat.
The menu has things like Meatloaf Sandwich and 24 hour breakfast so we high-fived our good luck. I had the Chili and Cheese omelette, which weighed in at 2 pounds with the hashed browns. The chili is house made and is described as spicy, but isn't. Good is what it is.
My better half had the Breakfast Melt, which was a heart warming sandwich with corned beef hash, scrambled egg and Swiss cheese on rye bread. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DISH! 90% of the people we saw left with filled containers. The flavors were spot on and the prices were extremely fair.
When in Albany and hungry, stop at Pop's Branding Iron and you won't be hungry for a while.
Great comfort food type spot. Large portions, friendly warm spot, very casual diner feel. This is how a hometown family restaurant should be. Breakfast all day and a bar on the other side of the building.
We had burgers, omelets, toast, and potato salad, with coffee, soda, & ice water allowing everyone their favorite meal of the day all at once!
Honestly, I love Pops, but either as a child I viewed it differently or they have changed. They are a great diner but sometimes their cooks don't know how to cook things properly (over medium eggs) I LOVE their nachos and salad.. I can't finish either but myself. For me, both of those are big enough for 2 people.
Years ago when I lived in Albany, this was a regular hangout of mine. During my visit home we stopped in to have a quick bite and to my surprise, it was the same as I remember. The food is still really good, prices are still reasonable and service is still quick.
Great local business with a large selection of choices. Pop's has been a longtime fixture in the community and one that you can count on for consistency. The atmosphere is a bit outdated but new seating was recently updated. Breakfast all day is a plus.
Great food. I got the club omelet with pancakes and it was perfect. So good.
My kid loved his mickey mouse shaped pancake and my mom got the chicken fried steak and said it was great too.
