It's just good plain Chinese buffet. It is a pretty simple setup. Don't expect the multitude of choices you have at some of the fancy Portland Chinese buffets. Few choice but they are descent. So wudnt be fair to give the a low score. Quality of food is good. Just small selection
Came here for my grandma's birthday since this is her favorite place to eat. I had never been here before. I found the decor to be old and out dated and a bit tacky. But what I really came here for was the buffet. On that area I think they were successful. The number of items to choose from wasn't that big of a selection and when we first arrived most of it was empty. However that was quickly remedied after a few minutes. For buffet food I have to say I was quite impressed with the food and found it to be quite tasty.
I would go back anytime.

We've eaten many times, over 3+ decades at the Lum Yuen in Salem. If you're not expecting authentic Chinese and/or Dim Sum options, you'll be well pleased with the fare.
Albany's menu looks much like the one at its sister store up north. I think the décor and atmosphere here is slightly more upscale.
My bride ordered a three item combo of Egg Foo Young, (There seems to be several correct spellings of this dish. This is the one they used.) House Special Fried Rice and BBQ Pork. Good as it was, she could only get around about a third of it. I had Szechuan Chicken and Fried Rice. Our server, Melissa, explained that the spice level on this dish is pretty low here, so I asked for some Chili Paste on the side in case it needed to be spiked. It did. I too wound up taking the major portion of my food home in a box.
I inquired about a senior discount. Melissa asked me if I had a card. I told her I had a driver's license and that I'm not nearly as young as I look. (Wife blew Tea out of her nose over this one!) When our check came, no discount was reflected. Melissa said she'd take care of it. Later, at home, counting my change, I noticed that the discount never happened. She was pretty busy and probably just forgot.
If you like good Americanized Chinese food and lots of it, either Lum Yuen location will make you a happy people!
Great food! Great service weather pick up delivery or dine in. The food is always hot and freshly prepared! My new go-to or Chinese food for sure!
Love this place! Cozy atmosphere, nice waitresses. The food is pretty delicious. They have lots of space. Cool fish tank although they have a fairly large fish in a tank separate from all the others in a small amount of water. Nonetheless food is good waitresses are nice. Price is worth the food and portions are large!
Simply a great place to visit. The staff are friendly and outgoing, even helping with my wheelchair. The service was excellent, you are made to feel you are really wanted and the servers went out of their way to make an enjoyable meal and a good time with friends. The prices vs. portions was phenomenal and the meals were outstanding...will certainly be back.
Ordered take out last weekend, order was made on time, food was good, price was very reasonable. House Fried Rice could have a little bit more meat in it, but good. All in all, great experience.
