Then went to Montalcino for a little tour of the town and ate lunch at Alle logge Di Piazza. The food was amazing. Then went to our second winery San Lorenzo and met with the wine maker Luciano, what a awesome guy. Simply awesome wines. After that Massi took us to a small beautiful town of Pienza. There we bought some locally made cheese and some Gelato. After that Massi took us sight seeing on the way back to Seina. Thank you Deb and Massi for your excellent knowledge and service. We were only able to spend 1 day in Tuscany & it was with Massi from Italy Unfiltered and it was probably the most memorable part of our trip. I started talking to Deb, a co-owner of Italy Unfiltered & Massi’s wife in Jan/Feb and I had every question under the sun to ask her. I’ve never been to Siena/Tuscany & so I truly needed her recommendation on trains, hotels, rentals, restaurants, etc! She was so great a getting back to me quickly & with amazing guidance. She also was also able to locate the exact spot of a few Tuscan photos I sent her from google images – she’s that good! She & Massi crafted our tour tailoring it to the vineyards & scenic spots we most wanted to see + some surprises of their own. We stayed at Deb’s recommendation of Hotel Palazzo Ravizza (separate review for that amazing hotel) & met Massi in the lobby. We boarded an extremely comfortable Mercedes passenger van. This private van was so convenient because we left our waters, cameras, jackets & purchased wine / olive oils on it as we toured different vineyards. Massi was kind enough to not only be our private driver but he also volunteered to take photos of my husband & I at each spot. We will truly treasure these photos! Massi stopped a few times on the side of the road for a photo op because he grew up in the area & knew the best spots. Massi’s knowledge of the area & his rapport with the vineyard owners made us feel like we were extended family just in for a visit. It was an amazing day that flew by – this tour was wonderful with just the 3 of us & I’m sure it would be great with a bit larger of a group. If you end up taking the tour, do not be shy & make sure to chat with Massi! He was the 100% the BEST part of our tour!

To put that right, we'd like to say a huge thank you to Deb and Massi for showing us a range of vineyards, from intimate to larger scale production, sharing with us their vast knowledge of the region and putting on a mouth-watering picnic of Italian culinary delights overlooking picture-perfect Tuscan valleys. We enjoyed a month in Italy in August 2017 and were fortunate to experience many high points, this day tour was right up amongst the best.We came away with no doubt that we had savoured an authentic part of Tuscany delivered beautifully by Deb and Massi. As well as the day tour, we were lucky enough to recruit their services for a private taxi ride from the Tuscan countryside to Cortona. Throughout, the customer service was exemplary.
