Everything from start to finish was an incredible experience. As someone who’s gone to several Michelin Star restaurants, Metier is by far my favorite one. Not only is the quality of the food exceptional but so is the service. Highly highly recommend anyone to dine with them.

I didn't really like the seating arrangements and the staff was also having a bit of a hard time getting to certain tables. The potato chips and caviar was so good I think about it all the time lol. The rest of the food was fine, we both got fish and it was well seasoned and tasty but nothing spectacular. Extensive wine list which I found to be well priced.

By far our favorite restaurant in D.C. that we tried during our trip! We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and we are so glad we did. Each dish was so perfectly crafted and exceptional. The chef does an excellent job in making sure you taste all the elements of his dishes. We enjoyed every single single dish & wouldn’t change a thing. They do have the option to upgrade your first dish to Caviar and I have to say it’s a must! The chef and his wife were even so kind to give us an anniversary candle as a gift and we can come back and refill it on our next visit. So thoughtful! They truly made our experience unforgettable. I highly recommend Métier to any and all! You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to return next year!

I took my partner there for a birthday celebration. The food, service, and atmosphere were lovely, but little was done to go out of the way to commemorate the reason we were there. We heard "Happy Birthday", but that was it. When we went to dinner for my birthday, the Italian place (another Michelin star winner) we visited went out of their way to make me feel special. I got a handwritten commemorative place setting card and happy birthday written in chocolate on my dessert plate. It wasn't much, but it meant the world to me. I wished that sentiment could have been repeated at Metier.

Everything you’d expect from a Michelin starred restaurant (including the price tag, lol). The ‘speak easy’ entrance. The cocktail in the lounge. The choreographed service. The truly inventive dishes. The perfect wine pairings. Enjoyed every minute of it!

If you want to be transported to a dégustation experience similar to those found in the European capitals of Paris, Rome or Geneva, this is your place. Every detail is considered in this unique restaurant. Our dinner was a delightful journey from our opening cocktail to the last sip of Armagnac. Each course of our extended meal was exquisite unto itself. One of our guests had food sensitivities which was no problem for chef who immediately sorted it. Even our very American-like request for a "to go" bag was met with a warm response. They even packed it with a bag of house-made caramel popcorn, much to our delight! I am not one to leave reviews (who has time?), but this little gem of a restaurant deserved an ovation.

Metier is a very special dining experience. The restaurant is sparse and minimalist. The food was on point and the service was elegant without hovering or being intrusive, which is refreshing these days. You get a view of the kitchen, which is busy as they also cook the food for Kinship, the upstairs sister restaurant . Our tasting menu was great from start to finish, I especially loved the squab, and a dish they call "corn chiboust". The only annoyance in our evening out was a bunch of kids with megaphones outside the restaurant, they were loud and threatening, protesting against foie gras. Staff later told us that they haven't served foie gras in over a year, yet these "protesters' continue harassing the staff and patrons. Pretty moronic if you ask me, yet this being DC the police could not make them leave. Seems their right to harass outweighs our right to patronize a business without subjected to this nonsense. Still, once you make it downstairs to Métier, it is a relaxing dinner experience in a zen-like atmosphere.

We had a fantastic experience at Métier. My husband and I have been to almost every Michelin Star restaurant in DC, and several around the world and I can say that they deserve their Michelin Star. The menu changes seasonally and our menu included sturgeon, ceviche/tartare, smoked trout, lobster, bbq pork jowl, ribeye, and sour mango and strawberry desserts. I liked that they included a page on the menu about where they source their ingredients and why. The wine pairing was perfect, and worth the add on. I don’t typically like every wine in pairing but Métier’s sommelier did a great job with this menu. For example, dessert wines are usually too sweet for me, but what they offered was just sweet enough to compliment the desserts without feeling like I’m drinking candy. The service was great, and our table had a good view of the kitchen. They also sent us home with a vinaigrette which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back.

A true dining experience. Not only is every plate a truly delicious encounter, but the journey is an absolute joyous trip. The wine pairing is unique and exposed me to a unique wine (late harvest sovereign blanc tasting like a dessert ice wine). Top 3 in the city for me.

We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. From when we walked through the front door and until we leave the service was perfect. The staff are friendly and accommodating, while also being incredibly knowledgeable about the food and restaurant. The salmon belly dish was incredible. The ingredients from the salmon down to the ponzu sauce and scallions were of the highest quality to make it perfect. I was disappointed in the beef dish. The texture of the meat wasn't what I was hoping for from japanese beef. The wine pairings each complimented the dishes well and the sommelier is knowledgeable in the wines he was serving along with all the other wines in the restaurant. The wines themselves are also fairly affordable so I definitely have some new wines I'll be ordering. The most interesting being the 2002 wine (see screenshot) Overall it was a good experience but I think it's hard to justify the higher price of this tasting menu compared to other similar restaurants in DC. I would recommend going to kinship which has the same owners but is much more affordable.
