It's an old arena but still in good shape. The sound for concerts isn't great (Billy Joel called it the Bomb Boom Room. 😂) But for sporting events it's great. The San Diego Sockers play here and there's plenty of action. After the games the players will come around to high five, sign autographs, take pictures and chat. The kids are all over the moon!
NEEDS A FACELIFT, BUT FUN! Although I had an enjoyable time overall at Pechanga arena for a Gulls v. Reign matchup I was fairly disappointed in the archaic qualities of this arena. The bathrooms are from an era long lost and the building itself needs a remodel… like yesterday. The parking situation outside is also a mess with poor crowd control and absent security. It’s a free-for-all throughout the majority of one’s time here. The Friday fans inside the arena seemed very shifty too and the security staff didn’t redirect or approach any of the rowdy college bros who were causing problems. It’s lame… that’s why security is there, to secure the arena! Now for the good, I will say the seats are very comfortable (although I wish there was more leg room) and I had a great view even from above. Also, the arena offers a lot of food options from mini-donuts, to pizza from Pizza Port, bars, frozen lemonade, and much more! Boy was the food good! Also I was impressed with the quality merchandise that is up for purchase at the Gulls booth. They had an awesome selection for fans!
Update: I went on a Saturday and the crowd was MUCH better! The staff were also in a great mood and I really enjoyed the service.
My visit to Pechanga Arena was great. This is a good basic venue. It holds about 15,000 people. So the view is good and the parking is great. The building is over 50 years old. There are food service venues in a ring around the auditorium. I saw Cirque du Soleil here and the seating, sound, and lighting was great. It does lack the high-tech features and amenities of a new arena.
I’ve been to many venues over San Diego and Pechanga Arena takes the Award! Not a bad seat anywhere in the arena. It’s a pretty big arena but it also feels small and intimate :)
The sound quality, food, all of the workers from the entrance to the security next to the aisles!
I hope every artist makes at least one stop here!
Our very first time! Venue is safe very clean and a systematic way of getting in and out. Lots of vendors.. Inside is cashless. Parking is $25 cash or card
Great arena! We Lyfted from our hotel to there which I highly recommend, it was a sold out concert so there was lots of traffic. The sound and lighting were perfect. 🤘
Went to a Rauw Alejandro concert recently, and it was good. However, the best part for me was when the Jabbawockeez came out and performed. We had decent seats, and lines to get in weren't too bad. The drinks were on the expensive side. Overall, it was a great experience. I did see a Monster Truck Show a while back and thought it was too small a venue for that. The kids liked it regardless.
Considering this arena has been here since the damn of time, I would say that it's in good shape. Easy to navigate to get to your seats. We went to see Hot Wheels monster trucks & every seat was a good seat for the show.
Nice arena, I've been to a hockey game and concert here and both times were great.
We have been to quite a few events at Pechenga Arena and always have a great time. The staff is always pleasant and very helpful. We went last night to see Muse (what a concert!). I purchased the Preferred Parking which is great. $80 and access in and out of the parking is quick and easy. Preferred Parking also comes with access to the Stella Artois Lounge and a "skip the line" pass (we joke because it says may not skip the bathroom or concessions lines).
The lounge is great, it is a nice, relaxing place to sit before and even during some of the show if you like. There is a full bar and a menu you can order food from and the amazing staff will bring it to you. There is also a set of restrooms inside the lounge and just outside (by the floor access). Last night we were even treated to some live pre-show music in the lounge. The only downside is I am not sure how accessible it is, lounge is down a large flight of stairs and I have not seen an elevator (but may be out of our site).
Acoustics in the arena are pretty good and the seating is decent. We were pretty close and my only issue is the section we were in seems to be mobile or on rollers so when people jump up and down, you can get a bit sea sick (it was awful when we took my daughter to see Shawn Mendes, too much movement). Other than that, love the venue! Really don't think there is a bad seat in the house.
