As a huge meat lovers we are amazed with ZZQ. The service, food and atmosphere is fantastic. We recommend 100% this place. The owner is there checking jf everything is ok, the waiters are also kind and friendly- anything you need they will help you out! Even giving bags for your leftovers (if you have) or if you want to order any drink. Atmosphere: We have been several times to ZZQ. Of course in the lunch time is crowded, but we also tried arriving at 3/4pm so we avoid waiting in line and you can also get good food. Some of the options will be sold out but still is delicious! If you are first timers here and you don’t know how much food you want to order (since the meat is per pound) the guys that take your order will help you! This time we ordered: - Pulled Pork (0.77lb): It’s amazing! 10/10. Unique flavor and texture. $16.94 - Beef Ribs (1.4): Personally I don’t like the part that they give you the bone and will be included in the price, but is part of it. I loved it! The meat is so tender and perfectly cooked! $49 Sides: - Buttermilk Potato Salad $4 - Sweet Tea Beet Salad $4 Total $87.33 It can be expensive but it totally worth it. You also have cheaper options and sandwiches!

Really enjoyed the brisket sandwich. It was top quality! The dirty rice is a great companion to it with a unexpected kick. Cornbread was good but not great. Nice staff, good atmosphere. Would come back! Small parking lot but there is a lot of free street parking. Check it out.

Best BBQ I have ever had. The beef Dino rib was excellent. The 3 meat (brisket, pulled pork, sausage) sandwich was perfect, and the jalapeño Mac n cheese was awesome. If I come back to Richmond, I for sure will he back.

Wow, wow, wow is all I can say about ZZQ!! As someone who does smoke meat on a stick burner and is a lover of BBQ, nothing could have prepared me for this level of BBQ in Virginia, like Virginia? My brother in law knows I know bbq and he told me before you head back home to Florida I need you to try this and lord have mercy!! What I ordered: Pork Ribs (5) cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. The Beef Brisket (5) this is when I knew this was authentic Texas BBQ, order the lean if you want, I order the fatty, and got some burnt ends w/out asking, this was heavenly!! Smoked Turkey (5) was juicy, as in juices running off each and every slice and again seasoned to perfection. The Beef Rib (5) and always the subject of much debate amongst BBQ enthusiasts. Once again I could not pick my single favorite meat and the brisket and beef rib were OUTSTANDING, juicy, grade "A" bark on both, there's just no way for me to pick one. Beef Cheek (5) with a disclaimer, this was super tasty and super lean, just wasn't a texture that appealed to me personally but if Beef Cheek is your thing you'll love this selection. Sides: Jalapeño Mac, Baked Beans all a (4) Cole Slaw (2) unfortunately fell flat and sour for me, was very bitter and more cabbage like than a Slaw. The winner in the sides was that damn rice, I did not expect this level of expertise that was in this rice, this is the best rice side dish I have ever tasted, hands down!! This is a MUST VISIT!! Get there early, there will be a line, we were about 40 minutes before opening and were still 10th in line, ordering is by the pound and well damn worth the near $100 I spent on myself.

You know the barbecue is going to be good when there's a line outside before they open. The wait, roughly 45 minutes from the time I got there until I sat down to eat and it was totally worth it. Servers were friendly and very helpful in answering questions. The guy with the mustache that helped me select the meats was awesome (he handed me a sample of brisket). Ordered brisket, pulled pork, a cheddar jalapeno hot link, slaw, watermelon salad, and a sweet tea. This was some of the best brisket I've ever tasted. The pork and link were also good, but damn that brisket was dynamite. Slaw was a perfect side, and the watermelon salad (a special) was perfect on a hot day. Pickles and onions are included. They have 3 sauce selections. The "Thin" is a classic vinegar sauce perfect for the pork (full disclosure. I love vinegar sauce). I also really enjoyed their "Sassy" which was a mustard sauce with some pineapple. The "Thick" was more of a traditional sauce with a nice chipotle kick to it. The sweet tea was perfect to wash it all down. If you're in Richmond, ZZQ is a place that you must stop at. Get there early as they run out of things as the day progresses.
