Great and friendly staff, tasty food (small portions), and a lovely summer-y atmosphere. We went for brunch, and they had the big panel windows open which let in lots of sun and refreshing air. The lobby of The Study is directly connected to the restaurant, so there's a sort-of bustly lively energy about the place (in a good way), and we enjoyed the meal. It wasn't busy when we went, so we sat around for a while talking. We may come back for dinner sometime.
Nice atmosphere.
For breakfast, I had the pastry selection. It was very attractive. It included two croissants and two fruit pastries. They were doughy, as if underbaked, and didn't have a lot of flavor. It was disappointing.
I gave them another chance for dinner, getting the seasonal pasta. It was delicious, maybe the best meal I had in Philly.
It's sort of weird to have had one of the worst meals (breakfast pastries) and the best meal (the seasonal pasta) at the same restaurant.
A very phenomenal seasonal menu with great local ingredients. Fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced, there's something for everyone here!
I was by myself and looking for a nice sit down restaurant with something new for dinner. I ordered the Agnolitti with the Dreamweaver wheat beer. Both were amazing and exactly what I was looking for.
It was a nice day out and they had their garage door windows open so there was a nice breeze coming in and creating a great ambiance. I didn't think my order had taken an inordinate amount of time, but they brought me a complimentary cornbread with my meal. That's a level of customer service I've never encountered in Philly. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
Would 100% eat here again!
Had been hearing of the classy, tasty spot Co-Op in University City and had never gone out that way. Finally made a trip and boy am I glad I did.
Ambiance - the place radiates good vibes. It’s bright, airy, clean, and new looking. Decor is spot on and you instantly feel welcome and cozy. It’s also attached to ‘The Study’ which is adorable.
Service- top notch. Our server was friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. She was happy to make recommendations, all of which were stellar.
Drinks- super sophisticated drink menu with some awesome, inventive cocktails. Def a good place to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Food- everything we had was absolutely top notch. The scallop ceviche was unreal- so fresh and bursting with flavor. The bread with warm ricotta tastes how a hug feels. The gnocchi are some of the best I’ve had - so big and fluffy, and the mojo shrimp was absolutely to die for. Loved the cauliflower dukkah (awesome vegan choice), and every dessert was amazing - definitely try the key lime pie, the tres leches cake, and/or the blueberry pie- YUM!
Overall excellent experience that I’d highly recommend!
Three words…outstanding, outstanding and outstanding! The beef short ribs nested in the best grits I have ever had. Clearly Kyle knows his way around the kitchen when he served the heirloom cornbread with honey and butter, followed by an apricot sauce over cream desert. You can see the attention to detail. New to the team, Kyle is doing the thing! Will make this stop the next time I visit Philly and so will everyone I tell.
First time dining at CO-OP & it was amazing! Our server MATT was splendid & quick on his feet. Honey hot wings & chips with dip was a great way to start off. I definitely recommend “the 33rd” as a choice of drink along with the berry sangria! Steak plate was packed! And cooked exactly how I asked. Couldn’t snag a photo of their apple pie because we devoured it way too quickly!
Brunch was delicious. While everything we ate was tasty, including the homemade donuts, I was looking for some more options on the menu. My personal preference is for cakey donuts, but these were good too. Service was attentive and friendly. While portions were satisfying, some items seemed a bit pricey. I'll try another meal there for comparison. The location is great in the summer while schools are not so busy. Street parking was easy (4th of July week), but all SEPTA is nearby.
Mac & cheese with wings and plenty of craft beer. A great and tasty way to end the night. The dynamic duo of Steve and Gina behind the bar were icing on the cake!

Went to CO-OP in a whim and it was a nice surprise!! Very clean and good service. We had breakfast there for 2 on Labor Day and the food was delicious! Very good breakfast, pancakes were nice and fluffy with pure maple syrup. Huecos rancheros were so so good and all made from scratch. Slightly expensive for breakfast m, but I think it was worth it. Only disappointment was the small macchiato, but still delish!! Definitely would recommend CO-OP for breakfast! Looking to hit this place up for dinner soon!! Heard reservations were highly recommended for dinner. We had no issue on a holiday morning, but would recommend them anyhow.
