Love the food and employees. They offer curb side pick up during this time. Can’t wait to be able to go back in.
We came from Evansville for the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular and decided to leave early and get dinner before the walk. This was one of the most amazing dinners i have ever had. We made reservations just because we were coming from Evansville and we’re gonna get there around dinner time on a Saturday, however there was no wait when we got there so i don’t think it would’ve been a problem for a walk in. I got the Sirloin and my boyfriend got the Southern Fried Chicken Tenders. Now, i am a huge fan of steak of all kinds and this steak that i ate here last night was one of the best steaks i have ever eaten. I could’ve cried. It was perfectly done to my medium well request. My boyfriend had very good things to say about the chicken tenders as well, however i was so caught up in my meal i didn’t get a chance to steal a bite. Overall it was terrific food for the price, with our meal coming to just under $40. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as well. This place was so good, i would make the 2 hour drive down to Louisville just to eat dinner here.
We really enjoyed Gander and will gladly return. Great atmosphere and food was very good. Staff was delightful.
Hot Brown was very good, not the best ever but worth tasty. Tips of the bacon were very crispy as cinged when finished in the oven. Fried green tomatoes were a Panko bread crumb breading type with Gander’s own creamy sauce and pleasantly tasty. Sweet potato was good enough to be a dessert that had a buttery, brown sugar, maple syrup type flavor. Pork chop was good but looking forward to trying something else next time.
Strawberry shortcake and butterscotch blondie were both very good. Our 7 y/o son ate the entire strawberry shortcake himself and loved it. He allowed me to taste a small bite though.
They also have a wine & beer list in addition to their specialty cocktails.
Based on a visit with four friends for Sunday brunch, I was impressed. Most of the buffet items were prepared and maintained well. I opted for more lunch items of ribs and chicken carbonara (breakfast items were not exciting, though they will make an omelet to order for you). Loved the carbonara but the ribs were a bit dry and not smoked at all--too much dependence on sauce for flavor. Wait staff was friendly and attentive when one in our party sent their bloody Mary back--not good at all. Would like to return.

Great food! Loved the fried green tomatoes and Benedictine BLT sandwich! My fiancé ordered the burger. Which let's just say he loves any burger, so it's not easy to get a great review from him:) lol. It's nice to have a new Resturant in Middletown on the other side of the gene Snyder, where we live. It's within walking distance, and takes 2 seconds to get there. The traffic has been so bad since the Middletown Commons shopping center and restaurants have opened that we try to not go out for dinner unless we are already on our way home.
Update! 11/7/23: Made it back! This time I had a Cobb salad with steak, fresh ingredients and perfect medium rare, tender steak slices. My Aunt had the Club, and my Grandmother ordered the sliders. We loved it all!
Original review:
Great menu choices. Perfectly seasoned dishes, attentive staff and fair prices. Will definitely be back!!! We dug right in and I forgot to take pictures.
The atmosphere had an urban feel, but the restaurant was very family friendly. It was busy, but we were seated right away. Our waitress, Chris, was fun. She was very engaged but not in an annoying way. She made she our cups stayed filled, and was really honest about plate size. Portions are larger than you'd think.
The food was really good. Steak was cooked perfectly and if you get an appetizer, get the Chips and Queso!!
The location kinda pops up so we had to flip around to get back to it.
My husband and I stopped in to see how good the food would be, and it wasn't disappointing. The food is amazing, we started with the shrimp and the fried green tomatoes. We have eaten here several times, even for brunch. The food was so good we frequent there twice a week for our lunch date. There are so many good food choices. We highly recommend this place. I don't want to forget to recognize the staff and how kind and attentive they are every time we go.
Stopped by for lunch while in town and was impressed with the service and food. We had a party of 35 and we arrived right at open time and they were able to accommodate us. Waitress was excellent and food was delicious. I went back for dinner to try something different. Both times everything was great. Would highly recommend it.
First time and won't be the last. We came to celebrate our anniversary and was astounded by the food. The price is very reasonable, but the food is out of this world. We started off with some drinks, a orange cream martini and a lemon drop martini, the were delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes as an app. You get 5, they were crisp, and the sauce was excellent. I had the gander burger, and he had the drunken burger, both were delicious. Their mac and cheese is creamy and packed with flavor!
Food was delish and Jessica is a good asset to Gander, very nice and professional, Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and finished with a Lemon Drop from the bar. Yum

Very good service...the fried green tomatoes were amazing! My mom said it was the best chicken livers she has ever had. My steak tacos were wonderful also. Pricey but worth it!
This place was absolutely awesome. We went there for my Birthday dinner.Started off with Chips and queso. I had the Hot Brown and my husband had the Shrimp Alfredo. Both were delicious. Topped it off with the Blondie for dessert. Nicole our server was very attentive. Scott the manager came to check on us twice. Definitely will be going back.
This place is amazing. We got there right when they opened. We got seated quickly. As soon as we sat down, our waitress got us all waters and asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. We then ordered our appetizer and within 10 minutes or so, it was on our table. We got the fried green tomatoes. So flavorful. The sauce that came with was delicious. We ordered our main entrees and waited no more than 20 minutes (probably less because it all seemed so fast). Don't let time fool you. The food was HOT, yummy, and fresh. For my birthday, I got a free dessert. Try the strawberry shortcake, it's worth it! We enjoyed this place and plan on going back to try other things. I got my eyes on trying the shrimp and grits!

Came for the Hot Brown and also loved the Shrimp and Grits 😋
Staff seemed fairly friendly, but only greeted by one person who seemed to be the manager. Once I said "pickup order," no other staff said a word to me while I waited. There had been some confusion about 2 identical orders: mine & a grubhub order, but that was ok to wait an extra 2-3 minutes while they sorted that out.
Because I didn't eat inside, I don't know the atmosphere really.
