I needed a platter of tacos for a baby shower the next business day. Fortunately, Picante Taqueria said they were able to do it! We ordered about 25 steak tacos and 5 vegetarian tacos. They were DELICIOUS! The guests loved them -- especially my vegetarian friends who said these tacos were the best vegetarian tacos they've ever had. Thank you Picante Taqueria team for the high quality tacos and easy pickup process. *There were more salsas and toppings than just those seen in the picture.
Great place with some great "street" food. Stopped in for first time after dropping daughter at salon. Felipe could not have been nicer. Food made fresh right there where you can see. Steak taco, al pastor (w/pina), and crispy taco were all excellent! I'll be back!
The best salsa in Wicker Park. Great fresh food. Big portions. Fresh margaritas and a full bar. Love it here!
Great neighborhood mexican option with friendly staff.
The restaurant itself is just a walk up window, but there are now tables outside on the sidewalk during the summer. The food is good. It works as a late night option, but I will also pick it up for a quick dinner.

Who knew a casual Saturday stroll through wicker would take me to THE BEST taco place I’ve EVER been to. We decided to go here on a whim after walking past many establishments. Once we walked in, we were met with the nicest owner who walked us through the absolute expression of flavors that he called a menu. Along with a detailed and lively explanation, came recommendations and samples galore. After exploring our options we landed on a chicken, steak and al pastor taco. To drink, horchata and watermelon fresca. On the patio we ate our tacos and with every bite we fell more and more in love. Our mouths were met with an explosion of flavor in each taco. The salsas were very authentic and flavorful and accented the flavors of the tacos perfectly. Just when we finished and were basking in the glory of the best food ever, Felipe brought out complimentary fresh watermelon with lime that was the perfect fresh dessert, especially on a hot day.
This was the best taco place I’ve ever been to, and my life has honestly been changed. I will be going back weekly to this restaurant. Truly a great experience and he has gained a lifelong customer.
