Service could improve as there was a long wait to be served while there were plenty of staff behind the counter. Perhaps having a system in place would help keep customers moving quickly. Overall I loved the food! 10/10

First time visiting,!recommended by TikTok, not from NY so this was a great surprise. Food was great! Fry chicken with the rice and peas and goat gravy SLAPS. Mad I couldn't try that chilly chicken though that sweet smell was smacking me in the face. Sweet chilli chicken Only comes in medium or large and I don't like buying big size platters when trying a new restaurant
First time there last week and I spent almost $80 worth of food with my family and I ! Honestly, everything was flavorful.. but the rice was a little grainy(should’ve cooked a little longer) perhaps it was rushed?
Love the new look. The food is delicious as always. Oh my the Henny coloda is addictive just the way I like it. Nice and strong baby. I did get to experience coming in at closing that the food is definitely made fresh everyday and that is a plus, plus iny book. Nice lounge area with great music.

From the point of entering the restaurant and speaking with each and everyone, the service was beyond exceptional.

Now the fooooood!!!! My family had a hard time chosing simply because everything, and I do mean everything was delicious. Well seasoned and prepared.

This place is always awesome. I remember when they first opened up, and they've been doing great since. I drive all the way from Albany now that I moved out the Bronx, just to go get food from here. Just wish they still was 24 hours.
I live a block away from Gold Star, and I have to say: the food is really good. Everything I’ve ordered from here is good.
If you go to the store, note that they have food in the back that you can’t see upfront (like Mac and cheese).
I have had some trouble ordering from here, but nothing too bad. Any time I order via Uber Eats, they don’t begin preparing the food until I go to the store.
With that said, if you live in the area, you know the level of service to expect. And the food is worth it.
Asked a friend for the best Jamaican food in the Bronx I was told Gold Star. Im glad I tried gold star . ..good service, fair prices, located right at a subway station so I hopped off the subway the restaurant is right at the Se entrance/exit of 219ST station...most of all was the taste was absolutely delicious....10/10 experience for me.
I ate here a couple time, the food was always good they also had a wide variety of food that’s big plus… im talking about food that JA restaurants wouldn’t normally sell. The best cornmeal porridge I’ve had in a LONG time I bought some for my coworker and he loved it, I’m taking that 30 mins drive before work go get some more in the morning. I gave it a 4 star because it’s a bit pricey, but food is definitely a 10/10.
