RumBa is an easy place to stop for a good bite at the Intercontinental. They have salads, sandwiches, and some fish and steak as well. I would say the quality of the food is 4.5/5—it's not the most amazing meal you'll ever have, but it is still very good. I got a shrimp cocktail and then the club sandwich. Shrimp were great! No complaints there. The club sandwich was very big and filling too. I think it could have been less crunchy and/or maybe different bread, if I'm being nitpicky. The truffle fries were great too. I give a 4/5 because I feel like my expectations were a bit higher. There's lots of other excellent food in Boston, so you're not missing anything if you don't go here.
My boyfriend and I stopped in to this hotel bar while on our walk somewhere else when the awful weather brought us to this bar for a break. We are glad we did! Overall we had a good experience. The drinks were good and we were happy to see one of our favorite beers on tap. The atmosphere is cozy with a fireplace on one side and floor to ceiling windows on the other overlooking the water. The only reason for the 4 stars vs 5 stars is because the bartender acted like we were bothering him.
Great tuna on a tortilla. The sliders are really good too. The rose wine is really good too.
We visited Boston for a few days. While staying at the Intercontinental on Atlantic we visited RumBa in the hotel. It's known for champagne and cocktails. The decor is lovely, while tables are spaced for social distancing it didn't affect the ambiance. The added space was a bonus! Making for a more intimate gathering with my girlfriend. We celebrated her birthday with champagne and some appetizers before heading off to dinner. A truly nice addition to our stay. All aspects from the service to the food and drinks were delightful.
Such an extensive selection of rum, it will blow your mind. Go for a cocktail on the list or try a flight variety of rums from around the world. Great food options, too.

RumBa is highly dependent on what bartenders are working. We initially sat down with David, who poured us two rum flights. We asked about the rums we were tasting. He pointed at the menu and told us to read it. Great, thanks. No passion, no conversation, just slinging drinks from that guy. We talked about leaving. I can get that kind of service for less $ in a lot of other places.
Then Vee showed up. Vee is super passionate about rum, rum drinks, and educating you about it all. By the end of the night, we were all ordering "ideas" like "I want something rum, no fruit, and not sweet" and he'd make a drink that even we had never heard of. We chatted with him about the types and brands of rum and he is a wealth of knowledge. Vee really turned RumBa from just another place with a bunch of rum on the shelves into a full fledged rum-cation. Amazing night!

Cozy and comfortable place with a great selection. Ideal for conversational get-togethers, specially when you don't want blaring music.
